thats almost like its a long way to tipperary rousing marching music brings a tear to your eye. shame they ruin it with that daft accent. there are too many fans who wont make a sound at city. its quite sad. i remember loads of times trying to get people to join in at away games. even arguing with people.
can you sit down please i cant see.

    the game has changed.
lets have caravan of love as the club song
or sugar baby love by the rubettes.

    same thing innit?

its almost like a dirge on that clip

plus the last thing we need is a reference to caravans. surely?

Is this, possibly the best rock album ever being dismissed without any discussion? FFS.

hey surely someone knows this 9 bob note?. got some lungs on him. bet he could write summat for his hometown club. or does he support sheff u too? the octave shift(?) would be too hard for most fans to sing.
i thought this song was fooking ace and brought tears to my eyes the first few times i heard it.
disclaimer i was undergoing scrotal stretching at the time.
i like a lot of calums scotts stuff and its usually soulful moody and passionate. does he write his own stuff? he was supposed to do a surprise song at my daughters mates wedding but it got postponed due to death (not calums) and he didnt turn up for the rearranged match.
if i was ever tempted into fellow 9 bob note-ness i would let him initiate me.
so if i ever change my mind ill rise into heaven instead of dancing on my own.

I always thought a lyricist could tweak One Day Like This by Elbow for a terrace chant, plus I quite like City's version of yellow submarine.

I remember that bloke on Soccer Saturday once saying "City 'Ull, City 'Ull, City 'Ull" was one of the few totally original, club specific, terrace songs around.
Weird that despite that, no ****er ever wants to sing it.

i think theres maybe two different things up for discussion here.
a club song and something sung by the fans can be two totally different things. for a very short time many years ago on the back of the bus we used to make up songs to sing at games and the 20 or thirty of us who used to sing sometimes adopted the good ones. there was one particular lad who most peole knew who excelled at this.
we would always change the lyrics.

but if you have to adapt or change the lyrics then it cant really be played over the speakers at the ground in its original form.

    or can it?

'Some' would say that the perfect song for you regarding this thread is Let it Go, from Frozen. I couldn't possibly comment. :emoticon-0111-blush

one day like this has almost the same feel as sunshine on leith and the chorus where he says throw those curtains wide really is uplifting despite the almost moody chord changes. i love it as a song.

i remember at the time thinking it was a bit naff.

but if you could get the whole crowd singing that it would sound brill
i can imagine in reality you would get about ten or so who'd start it and then another 20/30 would join in and then it would peter away.
