Yup,spot on As long as it's not one of those hospital gowns with the missing tie ups that make you walk round with your arse on show
Started a drinking game: take a shot every time the keeper flops to the floor when she catches the ball
Male keepers do it too. Change the Laws so that you have to let go of the ball if you fall to the ground?
Nah...would punish keepers who make brilliant saves while diving and they keep hold of the ball and keepers coming for corners etc.
That backheel goal from England was simply unreal, glad that’s getting a measure of the recognition it deserves. Don’t watch a lot of the women’s game but might have to stick the final on on Sunday now. Could be fun.
Yeah and only made worse by the fact that she’ll be seeing that goal every day for the rest of her life
Goalkeeping and finishing are the most obvious areas where the elite women's game is levels below the men's. I get it with goalkeeping. Most top level keepers are freaks. They're 6' 6" with the agility of gymnasts. I should think that most women keepers are a foot shorter and it really shows. I don't understand the general paucity in the standard of finishing. Russo, who scored the back heeled goal, actually can put the ball in the net and is, at this point, joint top scorer, despite not starting a single game. She should start in the final.
It was a total fluke, don't even think she meant it to be a shot. It came after she totally messed up a golden opportunity to score- and that is not being mentioned at all. However the star of the England team in my view is Sarina Wiegman, the manager and I dare say she could do a lot better than Southgate. her tactics and subs are spot on.
The Swedish keeper also had a mare, Shouldn't have been beaten by the 3rd or 4th goals at least. But you are right, there is bravery and aggression about the team that wasn't there under Neville. Still too much hoofing it forward for my liking though.
I’m glad to see the lionesses do well, but the standard of women’s football is still pretty dire imo.
