God imagine the old man rage if the women's team win something before the men's. Quality result last night - would be akin to blowing away Germany in the semis of a men's tournament! The ladies deserve all the credit coming their way - patchy first half but grew in the second and blew Sweden away after the second goal.
Fans of mens football wouldn't give a ****. The only people who would be irate and shouting from the rooftops would be women who don't like football and LGBQT activists who would immediately draw comparisons to the men's game and say how much more proud of the women we should be. Also they'd say male footballers are all thick drunks who cheat on their wives and roll around faking injuries, and the other such ****e that people who know nothing about football say.
In retaliation the blokes could turn around and say a lot of the women players are desperate for attention posting nude selfies in various places of the internet
Wehey! Didn't take long!!!! Come on man! "Fans of men's football" - what a ridiculous and petulant comment.
There was @GeordieLassinTheFen as well who, if I remember rightly, had played or coached womens football to a high level. It does baffle me why some people in this country feel the need to denigrate Women’s Football. Of course its not the same game as the men play but that applies to a lot of sports and no-one says women’s athletics is no good as they can’t run as fast, jump as high or throw as far. Its competitive and standards will improve as it becomes more common to play around the world. The notion that its been invented by the top clubs running womens’ teams is false. Its becoming more popular globally and its great to see more girls getting involved in it, even in very conservative countries. As more money comes into the sport it will grow in popularity as well and standards will improve , as better athletes realise they can make a living from it. And on top of that we might actually win a tournament so what’s not to like.
Tbh the annoying thing about women's football is not the fact its ****, there's plenty of other **** sports that I don't have any problem with. More the fans of women's football, and the fact that whenever the women's team win, comparisons are immediately drawn to the men's team, and people try to make out the men's team are some national embarrassment.
The English men's team are a bunch of annoying cretins to be fair. A bunch of overhyped, over pampered arseholes. Speaking from a Scottish point of view
I found this floating through my FB, so I acquainted said poster with world cup quarter final in 2002, world Cup quarter final in 2006 and semi in 2018.
Odd one that. The mens team didn't even qualify for the World Cup Finals in 1994! Think that and the 1998 World Cup were the best ones to watch, although 1994 final was dire.
The 10million or so BBC viewers says it all. The thread certainly piqued your interest, 8 out of 30 posts is quite a high percentage. Enjoy the final.
Haven’t minded the lasses Euro’s to be fair. Can’t ever compare to the mens game though, 9/10 decent shots on target are goals. Keepers are ****e, too small for the goals most of them.
and that run in slow Mo…. she had a nice rack… last time I saw folk celebrating like that in bras it was Burton..
