Morning all. A good early start to the day while it is still cool. The lane that leads to our hamlet is about a mile long before you reach the main road. Every year a family of partridges appear, the parents and a number of young ones, none of which have any road sense whatsoever. Instead of taking to the fields they run down the middle of the road with you following. Now two young deer have joined them, but they react far quicker by finding a way through the hedge into the field of maze that is tall enough for them to hide in. They are far more attractive than the back of a tractor and trailer loaded with hay that you can follow for ages. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

Morning all. A fairly strong breeze at present, so doors and windows open to catch it and cool the house down. Later the shutters will come across to keep the sun at bay. This is standard practice that we all know about, so it is no surprise to see similar advice being given to people in the UK. Wine sales must be very poor in the heat as it is best avoided. None has passed my lips for a week now, but plenty of water has. Better get and tidy up now as Mme might be coming home tomorrow. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

Morning all. Lovely and cool down the fields. Did the watering, a real good soaking, then had to support the haricot vert as the weight of the beans is starting to pull the plants over. Then I sat on the seat for five minutes and enjoyed the silence while watching out for insects being attracted to the flowers on my runners. While there a text from Mme who was complaining about being woken up at 2.00 am to have her blood pressure taken, then again at 5.00 am for a blood test. A good example of a health service never sleeping even if the patients would like to. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

Morning all. Survived yesterday's heat and very pleased that it will be cooler today. Electrical thunderstorms are expected this evening, and maybe, fingers crossed, showers tomorrow. Glad that the surgeon wasn't around to discharge Mme from hospital, she was better off there with the aircon and fans. It was quite a relief to go there, also the supermarket that was nice and cool. Hotter today for the UK; Hope you all find ways to keep cool. <ok>

Morning all. Overcast and we have had a little rain overnight. A top temperature of 26°C is forecast for today, but then it rises again to 35°C by Sunday. Yesterday there was a smoke haze everywhere, that had travelled all the way up the country from the fires down near Bordeaux which is 250 kms away. It even reached Paris which is 350 kms north of here. Final preparations now for Mme's return from hospital today. A person on crutches needs a bit more space than one without. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

We had a rather pleasant 24C yesterday - still hot enough to do this damage to some of my lilies though, even though they had been well watered...

Morning all. The cool of the early morning is quite refreshing after a hot day. I met a heavy downpour on my way to the hospital yesterday, and the temperature dropped ten degrees within a couple of minutes. I have now added chef and home help to my gardener and repair man list of occupations. I am refusing however to get up at 5.00 am and go to bed at 8.00 pm as per the hospital routine. Mme is doing well on her crutches, and seems fine to take on a supervisory role. I am likely to get training in the use of a dishwasher today. A bowl of hot water with some Fairy is not the approved method of washing your plate now she is home. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

    ¡¡Hola a todos!!

Hope all's well, we are still waiting for the non-existant so far rains to arrive.

    Things need greening up here!

Morning all. The sun was shining at 7.00 am, so off to the fields with the watering can. By 7.30 am clouds started to roll in from the west, and now we have had a light shower. It changes very quickly. Still it was not a waste of time as I was able to pick some beans for our dinner. Mme is pottering around, but cannot carry anything whilst using her crutches. Now I have to get the shopping and arrange an appointment at the physiotherapy centre. Life is all go. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

You are obviously more caring than my wife - when I was on crutches she stitched a long handle onto a bag so that it fitted around my neck and I could carry things for her...

Morning all. The sun was up before me this morning, which at this time of year can be quite normal. As we had thunderstorms and a fair drop of rain yesterday no watering was required. My internet went AWOL last night, so I immediately applied for my top up of free data for the mobile, which was successful, but by the time confirmation came through the internet was restored. Still 200 G is worth having available for the next fortnight. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

Hi Frenchie, long time since I popped in here for a drink and chat. Pleased to see your keeping the bar open. Sorry to hear about Mme hope she recovers soon. Another lovely day by the coast in sunny Kent, unfortunately my plants don't agree. We'll that was a lovely pint, predictions all done, so better get on and do some watering. Keep well and my best wishes to all you 'orns (and non orns)

Morning all. All very peaceful in rural France this Sunday morning. No lawnmowers, no cars on the move, and no work being done at the farm. My watering efforts are starting to pay off as I can now pick a few more beans every day. Hose out in the house garden to water Mme's plants, and it came as a surprise when a voice behind me said that a rose in a container needed a drop more. Keep on the move, with walking being the best exercise she has been told, so I am now being supervised at close range. Have a good day everyone. <ok>
