Thomas lemar is being offered round by atletico.

His career has gone so wrong he has been rejected by Everton.

The price of not joining lfc and klopp is massive.

Imagine being offered Jurgen klopp and trophies if you work hard and then deciding a quick buck is good enough elsewhere.

If Everton "rejected" him the most likely reason is they are brassic .

7 goals in 104 for Atletico, for a attacking player thats rubbish.

Just watched the Mané interview in which he says, when talking about Liverpool, "we won almost everything" .... almost? And goes on to say that going to Bayern was the best decision of his career. I don't know what to make of that.

He can’t exactly say it’s the worst can he? Mané is the past and now irrelevant.

He was the free kick and penalty taker at Monaco. I agree with you about Trent not improving on his free kicks. I think this season may see us switch a few things around. I could say we can't afford to be predictable but in reality we are and it works. I can see Klopp changing some things though especially now we have an out and out striker.

It wasn't a club interview where you would expect him to say Bayern are the best etc., it was an interview on S African tv. It's left a bit of a sour taste. And yes even if he is in our past, it feels like he's disrespecting our fans. I don't follow the paths of our ex-players but occasionally something comes up on the front page of the BBC sports news, like Wijnaldum's reason for leaving being the fans on social media and it's hugely disappointing.

It will only take a year before he is transfer listed. He should take some advice from Georginio Wijnaldum.

I wish him luck and success. He is a very humble man who hasn't forgotten his roots. I just find it at odds with everything I'd come to expect from him that he is being disrespectful to the club.

Juve apparently making £20m bid for firmino.

Would be disappointed to see him go unless he wants a move

I'd not let him go for that purely on the basis that he knows the system by heart playing false 9 and the others would have to step up.

It would leave us one short again

£20m bid with only a year left on his contract after he’s been here since 2015 and cost £29m initially and even though I love Bobby as a player I’d be going ‘How’s your Italian?’

We would need to buy though but who?

    Diaz Nunez Salah
    Carvalho Jota ?

not sure who we would go for in this scenario but with jota struggling I would want us to be thinking about this one

Have we bought Nunéz to play as a false 9 though and can he? Bobby was exceptional with Mané on his left and Salah to his right, but Mané had been replaced by Diàz and they are for me different style players.

We’re done in the market and the season starts in less than a fortnight - he surely stays

Firmino is crucial as rotation and support up top. He will fill that Milner role for the strikers.

Nunez will adapt imo and we will adapt to him. He can play wing or 9.

the important thing is not to consider it a false 9 or a true 9 but to consider it as the guy who leads the press. he starts it the rest follow.

if bobby goes then we are down to still two men in nunez and jota for that central role which is ok but suddenly from having 3 options for LW for example we are down to diaz with cover form Carvalho and jota.

frankly i'd rather keep firmino for 12months and lose on a free to give nunez and Carvalho time to adapt (and diaz) than to try do it all "live". Its just one too many changes.

My ideal is we keep him and then say thanks for sitting on the bench while nunez and salah ripped the prem to shreds. but the back up is he comes in and plays games and 30mins here and there and keeps us going for titles.

    lets talk achieving things.

Wijnaldum, leaves on a free. we get 4th, no big deal. 25mil investment talks for nothing but he plays all season and we scrape 4th having the worst CB and CM injury crisis. We we sold him cos he wasn't going to sign then what?

Origi - leaves on a free. we win a couple trophies and have for the first time genuinely 6 forwards. he makes a small contribution

Even Can. 17/18 he decides he is off. he socred in cl play offs and got us through til we could sell ****inho and buy vvd. Seel him in the summer and who knows?

    now firmino.

Lets just add this up. 10, 10, 10, 20. 50mil possible fees to just let them go but at what cost to the squad and achievements?

some major contributors and some not so much but every little part adds up doesn't it?

I'd rather shoot for trophies and say thanks at years end to firmino than see him go now without a proper replacement and maybe have injury issues or bedding in issues.
