It’s between them and Barcelona as my favourite insanely managed soap opera club these days. Speaking of which, they wrote just sold EVEN MORE of their future TV revenues to spend on players that they can’t afford. Love it. Put it in my veins.
Betting it all on said tv revenues being moot due to the super league. One of the many reasons I hope that case fails.
It's weird how Ralph has so far in his time here been arguably the most hamstrung Saints manager ever, and yet will likely this Summer become the most backed Saints manager ever. Assuming at least one more perm comes in then it will almost certainly be the biggest spending Summer in our history (overtaking Poch in 2014). It's certainly exciting to be signing lots of young talent. I know nothing about any of them so no idea how it's going to go but I've got a gut feeling it'll be one extreme or the other. I just hope that Ralph is able to hold his nerve in the event of some early defeats/mistakes considering how quickly the pressure on him could increase.
If we get one more striker plus a number 10 and a full back to cover for Tino then Ralph has no excuses for me. He's been backed - I'm presuming he had some sort of input on transfers. So we need an improvement on the last 2 seasons.
Ralph had a reputation for fearlessness bordering on insanity in Austria/Germany, so I'm hopeful. The one thing that typifies the youngsters we've brought in this window is aggression, so it should be easier to get them to buy into the front foot philosophy even if the execution isn't always there. And perhaps they can even drag some of the veterans along with them.
Yeah especially with the start we have fixtures wise. Could destroy the confidence of a lot of the younger players if we get battered regularly early on, not like we have any senior players who look like they can turn things around when it’s going against us based on the last couple of seasons
It will be down to Ralph and his new coaching staff to pick them up if that happens. But on the other hand, these young players may be completely fearless and play with freedom at Spurs.
Yeah as I’ve said before it’s impossible to really say with any confidence how good/bad we are going to be this season. I expect us to finish roughly the same position as last year, which I’d consider a successful season
City have apparently said McAtee and Delap can both go out on loan this summer but permanent moves are out of the question.
You'd have to think that the odds of Delap joining on loan are diminished now. City will want him to be playing consistently, and that's more likely in the Championship than as part of our striker corps, where he wouldn't necessarily be favoured to start.
Saint in Kuwait I think that next season will throw up similar problems for the likes of Everton and Leeds. In both cases, they seem to have deterioated and lost key players. There are quite a few other teams I would fancy less than Saints in 22/23 if I am honest. Brighton, Leicester and Forest will all be in the mix come May and I would have to say that I dont really fancy Fulham or Brentford's chances. I would expect us to finish above these seven teams. I am not convinced we will lose key players like JWP or KWP but think that we will start shifting a few more out of the door prior to the season starting. It would not surprise me if Adam Armstrong went out of the door and ended up at somewhere like Burnley. Can't see Ralph persisting with a forward he clearly has no confidence in nor is willing to give a chance to play.
Was just about to post this. Although latest word from Chelsea was that they want to keep him. But could have been just trying to drive the price up Bayern are also signings a young striker from france for €25-30m which potentially rules them out of Kalajdzic . In terms of the main two strikers we have been linked with
