Aye but he's gets credit surely for either bringing them in or getting them performing. He fantastic at Chelsea in that first year. People are far too quick to judge o think

Getting them in maybe, or lucky to have them. One of the 2?
I wouldnt give him credit for making them perform though, they could do that themselves in the Championship. He had millions of pounds worth of talent all on loan, and one of the best Leftbacks to ever grace the game. You cant call him a tactical genius for getting them to a playoff final

To me he looks more than capable of progressing to be a premier league striker, and a pretty good one. He has great feet, is quick, is good in the air, and like his arsenal goal showed is a cool finisher. His movement looks decent, but a coach will make that better. If I was Lampard I would be wanting to work with a player with those attributes, not ditch him. It is to our benefit.

His fitness issues I would hope can be managed. Our physios will get to know him better, and will develop personalised routines for him. Lots of players have learned how to look after hamstrings as they get older. Sometimes it can be something elsewhere in the body causing it. I am going for optimism with his injuries, and as he becomes more match resilient, he will be less injured. The 4 year deal is because I think he had massive untapped potential, similar to Clarke, so lets protect our investment in his development.

Madness indeed. I think he's wanting for West Ham though. He's a massive fan boy of players and I can't imagine him wanting selfies with Colback.

    Selfie with Colback it is.

    1 year? the arrogance.

But they were untested. Anyway I'm not arguing, he gets jip, I think he'll have a good career

I went to that play off final. I thought he was too negative that day and Derby would have won otherwise. Mind you, the goalkeeping howler wasnt in his control...

Yeah i couldn't not say anything after seeing him get praise for what he done at Derby, with them players at his disposal.
They also had Tom Huddlestone. He should really have gotten the promoted automatically tbf

Wouldn't pay too much attention to that IQ stuff mind!

Very long story which does not merit telling but I took the official test once with a few others. I scored 146, which I was told was very high, and come and take another test etc. Believe me, I'm nowt ower, though not daft. I just thought it was something that on another day you could score way less, or if you'd scored low could score way more.

More to the point with Lampard though, he had a good public school education. Needs to seriously up his game as manager , though that is a bloody tough job.

Yeah, Broadhead’s injury issue’s the only concern for me. He’s a great finisher and very rapid.

Looking forward to being proved completely wrong but I feel going into the championship with 3 strikers who have barely (if at all) played a standard as high, is a bit of a risk. I’d have like to see us go for someone with a bit experience who you can rely on along with either broadhead or parrot. At the same time I’ve learned not to doubt the recruitment

Fair play mate. I do hope you’re right and I’d like to see him come in and be available for 10+ games off the belt… we’re yet to see it from him yet. It would be a 2 year deal with the option of a third for me but like I’ve said previous - I trust the club after a good window last summer and January (other than Defoe).

we were always unlikely to get somebody of that ilk who would be willing to play second fiddle to LND

Never understood all this experience of the championship malarky end of the day if you're good enough which Stewart and broadhead are then it doesn't matter they will score goals in the championship.

How do you know they’re good enough by the way? I fully believe they can make the step up and perform but I’ve never seen them play at this level so i certainly don’t know

Possibly. Just hope LND takes to the championship like he did with league one.
