Apparently there have been record low temperatures in Queensland so, with us getting some heat, the average should be about the same.
Spoke to a relly this evening in the UK. I said that our overnight temp was 7oC and the daytime was 17oC but it was bloody cold for us, plus a cold southerly. Bloody brass monkey weather, mate.
According to my PC it's 34oC in Wakefield but the childminder's car had it at 39. My wife has pulled the kids out of school
My car is parked in the sun with the windows shut. I put a thermometer on the dashboard. Reads 58c!! And it's only 30C outside.
Well over 55c in my conservatory no more space on the thermometer. 45c in doors One of the glass panels exploded on Friday didn’t know that could happen. Was sat below the one next to it 5 mins before. Didn’t all shatter like safety glass either, some big shards came down.
Sorry to hear that lee, if you get big shards it probably is not safety glass! Anyway hope you are all fine, back to normal tomorrow it's going to piss it down. I wish it would here. Maybe in october.
Isn't it strange how very cold temperatures are a weather event but very warm temperatures are the effects of global warming? The spike in CO2 concentration in the atmosphere and the sharp increase in the global temperature coincide with us beginning to use satellite measurements. Isn't that a coincidence? CO2 has a short lifetime in the atmosphere but it has continuously risen since the late 70s even though the amount of greenhouse gases the first world (except Australia) emits has fallen drastically. I wonder what the is the point of a global temperature? They can't accurately measure temperatures over vast parts of the planet so have to adjust the figures. It makes it pointless. The recent heat dome over Europe was caused by a freak weather event. Many factors combined to create the perfect storm which we may not see for many more years. The important thing to note is that, even though the temperature was higher than ever before, we adapted. There will be a technological breakthrough that will solve our energy problem but we don't know when it will be. Nett zero is killing people around the world now even though we do not have the resources to make it happen. It's not - "but we have to" We can't. Unless you want to go back to the stone age, when 30 was an average lifespan, we can't do it. It's not possible no matter how much the bleeding hearts cry about it. Sorry, I got carried away again
