I agree. They did well. They where the worst team. Spain lost that game.

To be honest I am actually pretty disgusted with the BBC. Just checked on the front page (it’s 23:52 so appreciate it’s late) but the mere fact that the ladies qualified has been totally ignored by the BBC.

They are more interested in Boris’s Hasta La vista quote.

Good result despite a poor performance from the ladies last night. Spain are a good team and showed it but a little naïve I think - commentators suggested it was the Spanish coach's subs that cost them and I get that when he took their striker off and went with the Barce 4-6-0 false 9 but he changed it later and for me it was more a good change from Weigman's change of tactics pushing players forwards combined with Spain losing their heads after the goal.

Said it would be interesting to see how the girls reacted to going a goal down and despite a shaky performance they pulled through. No easy games going forwards with probably Sweden in the semi's and France or Germany in the final but think that'll have done the Lionesses a world of good coming from behind and give them the motivation to kick on from here with some improved performances.

 

Should we be calling them the lionesses? Should it’s not just the the lions or are we being selective?
