This is the thing we were saying. He's got his own life a dream and he had the opportunity to try and play for the club he has followed. I noticed in January he also said he had alot of respect for Newcastle and its a great club, so he was obviously interested and keen until PSG started to show signs of igniting their interest. People hoping he fails, breaks legs etc really are taking things personally.. He's a young lad with the world at his feet. Actually it's not impossible he ends up here somewhere down the line.
What was the loan fee? Weird report from L'Equipe about why it was a loan. Anyway, any lad in his position who picked us ahead of PSG would need his head examining.
...reminds me of a youngster who scored a fantastic goal for us against Man U and opted for Burnley after we got relegated. The fact that I struggle remembering his name says a lot. Remember the other one who arrogantly said "I don't even want to discuss Newcastle" and went to Arsenal when Thierry Henry was there with one or two other strikers to back him up?? I don't wish this lad bad luck......
He’s back on the radar chaps. Discuss. Debate. https://www.geordiebootboys.com/tra...r-on-loan-after-callum-wilsons-latest-injury/
If FA/PL don't deal with Man City, Chelsea and Everton with harsh penalties for their breaches then exacrty this, it just opens the system up to be abused. And if that happens, we can just go nuts. So it almost means the authorities HAVE to hit thise clubs hard, or might as well just tear up the FFP rulebook altogether.
Starting to think this way myself. By the time everyone gets docked 12 points we’ll all be on an even footing start of next season
At this rate I'd take Shola back with Wilson and Isak seemingly unable to stay fit for more than 4-6 weeks at a time.
Newcastle reignite interest in Hugo Ekitike According to 90min, Newcastle United are reigniting their interest in Hugo Ekitike. They state that Howe’s side are looking into a possible loan deal for the 21-year-old, who is interested in a move to the Premier League. The name ‘Hugo Ekitike‘ is not new to Toon fans, as he is a player who actually snubbed Newcastle on two separate occasions in 2022. He was playing for Reims back then, and was a target during the first transfer window after the takeover. Newcastle tried to sign him on deadline day that January, only for Ekitike to decide against the switch at the last minute.
The club clearly rate his potential so I can see this happening actually... could well be a cheap loan in January. I said this at the time and I'll say it again .. they watch players for years and just because he chose to go to a bigger club and hasnt done enough doesn't mean he's a bad player. Could be a nice back up for isak he's got the same frame that's for sure.
Needs must and I would make a case he's actually just not better than mbappe. A loan and see how he goes he's just a bairn.
TBH I think we should be ambitious and offer money, plus Wilson if needed, for Ivan Toney. Exactly what we need. Still reasonably young, strong, fast, can hold up the ball, good finisher, decent in the air, probably a better striker than Isak or Wilson, although not as technically skilled as Isak.
Maybe, but Wilson doesn't have much longer in him. I don't think he can handle all the game time at CL/European level now, he needs a mid table team that'll play him once a week at most.
What about Bryan Mbeumo? Pretty much a 1/2 player who scores and assists, can play anywhere across the front?
