First off I'm not going to say that Nasri wasn't very good player just because he's playing at City now. The guy has obvious talent but in 3 years at the club he only had 1 consistent 6 month spell. Even then he only achieved 1 assist in the PL all of last season which for an attacking side going for the top four (+) that isn't good enough. Gervinho although being played in same position as Nasri had is admittley more of an attacking player from his days at Lille, but for the formation Wenger insists on playing i believe he will be a far more effective player than Nasri. Already 4 assists and 2 goals in 7 Premier League starts and considering this is his first season in England for a side that has been struggling it isn't bad at all! He can mix the sublime with the clumsy at times but we usually have enough chances in a game that he can make up for that. People keep saying we're worse this year because of Cesc and Nasri leaving , but I think it's only really Cesc's departure we miss and although they're nowhere as good if Ramsey and Arteta and share some creative responsibility between them we might sneak 4th spot
I don't agree Gervinho is a better option than Nasri, not even close......Nasri had a chance to be spoken of in the same vein as the little Spaniard (Silva) that plays for Citeh, if he had stayed..... Now he is going to be a bit part player at Citeh.... It's amazing how people soon forget how good Nasri was for us!
Nasri had a good first half of a season but largely flattered to deceive. He did score the odd gem. But I see Gervinho contributing far more than Nasri - Gervinho will provide lots of assists this season and grab a few goals too, certainly a more effective player than Nasri.
The biggest difference is that Gervinho actually wants to play for us, whereas Nasri just wanted out. Nasri could have had it all at Arsenal, but he chose to take the money instead.
...agreed and happy 'bout gervinho...but what stops him from looking for money too...say two years from now?...
He might, but you can't say he will just based on Nasri. RVP could play for any team in the world and demand the highest wages, but I reckon he's a player who's got Arsenal running through his veins
I guess we'll see with RVP. He's never really drawn too much interest because of his injury record. If he stays fit and carries on scoring then we may see how much he loves the club. I've been impressed with Gervinho but he definitely needs to work on his finishing, which surprises me when you look at his record for Lille last season.
Well, the spuddie was saying that RVP might turn out to be another greedy little **** like Narsi and I said he ain't gonna be, so it's on ****ing topic
my thought on Gervinho is some what uncertain. I would agree that he's more influential than Nasri going forward, because he attack goal ward consistently, where as Nasri tend to turn away from goal when he has the space to go forward. I believe though if Gervinho is fine tuned he will be a much more of a threat than Nasri.
One of them is worth more than double than the other. From a nonpartisan point of view that sums up who is the most talented .
Time will tell , but at this moment I would think Nasri would improve most teams more than Gervinho.( maybe Arsenal is a exception )
