No, he could be from any country. I'm talking about the incident that I watched in slow motion from a single viewpoint. I only watched this as I slept in for the match. I didn't see any intent, other than to get the ball. Now if I see the tackle from other angles, I might be upset, but to date, I have seen nothing deliberate about it. Now if we were talking about someone like McTominay from scum, I would defend him too in the same circumstances - and I can't stand him, even when he turns up for Scotland. So, no bias, I'm actually trying to be objective.
If all 3, let one go? Even if you were right, you want to get rid of the one with the best record & experience of the PL? Really? The only benefit is we get more money, & after our sales this year, do we really need that? I'd rather have our strongest bench in donkey's years. And I'd drive Rodrigo!
Yes, there's a few out the door before JH, but I do understand the frustrations, I wouldn't accept anything u der £35m personally.
I'd like to. Normally I'm one of the most defensive for my players, but I like to think I'm fair with other (non-scum) players. Only seen it from 1 angle. Is there a comprehensive clip available anywhere?
It's all over twitter. I don't know how to post it on here. I've only seen the one angle and it's all I need to see. Jumps in, studs up, turns his back, makes contact, doesn't at any point try and soften the challenge and puts his full weight on the lads ankle. It's a shocker. Knew what he was doing. The reason I know that is that I used to be a dirty ****er myself. To do it at a pro level and knowingly to a young kid as retribution for an earlier tackle on Buendia is cringeworthy. To not acknowledge it either just confirms the complete ****housery on show. It's not cos it's one of our own either. Doesn't help, but not the case.
Don’t need mind-reading super power just the evidence of my eyes. Suggest you take your telescope away from your blind one.
I'm not saying this just because he is Leeds but nothing wrong with that one bit. It wasn't even a tackle as he won the free ball then the Villa player fell over him.
I'll try and put it into context for you WJ, as I watched the game. Firstly I felt the officials were weak and whilst I am sure Villa fans could point to incidents they didn't like, there were two in the first half, one on lloente and one on bamford that I thought were over the top. Gray comes on for second half after 62 minutes, and there are a few challenges from both sides, that I think players and fans of both sides wish the ref had either dealt with quicker or firmer. Gray gets the first booking of the game about midway through second half for a in my opinion was a mistimed tackle on a player where they were shoulder to shoulder, Gray clipped him as the villa player made the pass. (EDIT well I remembered that incident totally wrong ) Villa players didn't seem happy with this, and within 11 minutes of coming on Gray is being stretchered off after the mcginn tackle. Mine and shaks opinion straight away was that it was a bad challenge. Whilst this is now getting to opinion rather than factual evidence, the way mcginn acted straight after, was one of "there you go I've got you back" and he didn't even acknowledge the ref as he was booked, it was as if he expected it and wasn't bothered. Even when our lads told him it looked like a bad injury, his manner to me seemed to be "yeah so what" I will also say that for the second penalty it was shameful the way Davis acted as if the ball had been blasted into his face. The penalty was soft but the way Davis went down was remindful of Adryan. Anyways as I say that's my opinion from watching the whole game at the ungodly hour of 5:30am on a Sunday morning
The ref only gives the card due to Gray's reaction to the foul. Obviously he was in agony, not the actual foul itself
Controversial I know but I don’t see McGinns tackle as quite so life threatening as is being portrayed on here
A great day, poor result but overall I would say about right, based on relative performances. The ref was poor and if EPL teams are playing each other perhaps the ref should be up to speed Adam Kersey is Australian and hasn't refereed a match of this standard. Early niggley tackles from each side should have been dealt with but were allowed to escalate to a point where, had the teams been playing the normal sport at Suncorp stadium, they would have been sin binned. The elbow into the neck of Lrorenta and the couple of times when a guy going for the header was backed into and flipped over, Kock and Bamford I think. I hope Archie is ok but it didn't look or sound good. His initial tackles was hard and probably deserved a talking to or perhaps a card but the tackle by McGinn was predetermined in that moment. Just look who was looking on when Archie made his tackle. Seeing the tackle on Archie in real time it looked and felt that it was premeditated retribution from McGinn. I can't say there were many good comments about him and he won't be getting any awards from Leeds fans who go to the Villa match in 4 weeks. Overall we played OK but still not convinced it is a team. Roca, Adams and Kristensen of the new guys played well, Aaronson needs to think a split second quicker than he is used to but has the skill and Sinisterra was 100% better than when he played Brisbane Roar but still not up to speed. Davis was obviously trying hard but I was much more comfortable when he was replaced by Leo Hjelde. Harrison and James ran and ran, got into good positions and then...... but perhaps they aren't being provided with any outlets for their next pass? Koch and Llorente looked assured and when Drameh came on he made some good overlaps and crosses but again no real killer striker in the middle. Not quite sure what Harrison is up to.
Cheers for that Eric, was interested in your opinion on the ref, as I did wonder whether he was the best available or just an average appointee. Your impression of lots of niggly type of fouls from both sides that the officials just let go, was the same one I had from watching on stream. Hope you enjoyed your day out, and that your other half enjoyed the birthday treat of seeing the whites play in real life
They were from both sides James just pushed somebody over, Roca left a leg in, A Villa guy was beaten and a simple tap of the ankle brought the Leeds player to ground. In themselves not serious or likely to cause an injury but they escalated. It wasn't just the ref, the linesmen were not the speediest guys and just couldn't keep up with play.
