Yes he was. Eric Sykes doesn’t get as many mentions nowadays as some but he was brilliant both as a performer and writer. Very interesting bloke to listen to talking about comedy as well. Corky on Sykes was more efficient than Corcoran.
Deryck Guyler was one of those figures us oldies grew up with on TV. There were some like him who appeared in no end of programmes in a way you don’t see nowadays.Do you remember the City poster John Alperton pinned to the notice board in Please Sir? Think it was for a game versus Oxford.
