I can't immediately think when Wood last bowled more than four overs in a day. When we had the two group games on the same day last year, we rested him for the second game. I guess it might have been the 2019 one-day final?
My knowledge of such things is sadly lacking, I'm afraid. However, I'm quite prepared to believe that everyone/everything is conspiring against Saints, sorry Hampshire
I suspect if Somerset had needed, say, 170 then they probably would have got there. The back end of their innings went haywire because the required rate got out of control chasing 191. So only making 153 is slightly misrepresentative. Whilst it probably is far to say that par has fallen as the day has gone on, I'm not sure if 150 or 160 will cut it in the final. Probably still need to be looking for about 175.
This may not be news, but (according to BBC website) Hampshire are batting first, having won the toss.
I turned on Radio Solent commentary via my laptop, and the first thing I hear is that Hampshire have lost their second wicket. I then checked the time and realised that they were re-running highlights of Hampshire v Somerset. Things can only get better...
Apparently Vince needs 38 to break the record for most Blast runs in a season. A record which he is already the owner of.
Well, one in particular. This just means that Vince's record will stand for a bit longer. Oh, and my (wine) glass is half-full
What do we think is the bare minimum defendable? I’d say 160 for an outside chance, 140 absolute bare minimum.
