Spain are about 5 levels better than anyone England have played so far.

 

Good contest so far. Spain far more switched on defensively than our previous opponents.
Beth Mead getting little space down the right and quickly closed down when on the ball.
Spain have a threat going forward too.

 

Really enjoying this game.
Good passing, good movement, good vision, good energy, what’s not to enjoy.
England not creating any real openings, but when the Spanish goal is being protected by walls (Paredes) that might be expected.
Midfield is leaving White a little bit unsupported by not getting up to support her enough, but with the way Spain are turning over possession and moving the ball forward, perhaps they are a bit tentative to leave gaps.

Poor by the left back. Should have stood off I think, instead of dashing in and being bypassed with ease.

I could see VAR disallowing that in the EPL. Left arm over the CB’s shoulder could have stopped her jumping.

 

You don’t see players on the bench being yellow carded very often.

 

I wouldn’t mind booking her. She’s gorgeous

 

The England keeper’s save from that cross/shot has become so much more important now.
