Fancy being a mag fan, knowing players are only coming for the money and couldn’t give a toss about the club.
Fantastic interview that. He comes across as a really good lad. Humble but confident. It's nice to hear how attractive we are to others and that it's spreading by word of mouth. We'll be getting a very good reputation among younger players in elite clubs right now.
I think this is probably right. Ultimately though, it's a price worth paying to get these lads permanently rather than on loan. Who knows what can happen, if we're in the prem in a couple of years the likes of Cirkin and Alese might have no interest in being signed back by these clubs. If they do go, we'll have made something like 500% profit. If they're not good enough, then they were cheap enough punts. It's a great approach.
Class isn't it. . We have a plan, we are implementing it and these lads look excellent. Long may it continue.
One other thing that I don't think I've mentioned - I love that Ballard and Alese are big, strong lads. We always seemed to have a problem of our younger players being a bit undersized. These 2 will relish a battle with a big striker.
Yes I agree on that one as well. We aren't getting bullied next season that's for sure. Stewart will put himself about upfront and the likes of Batth, Wright etc will do the same at the back. This will allow Roberts, Clarke and Pritch to do their stuff in the final third. Here's hoping anyway
I know a few hammers fans and they are furious that they have let him go, I’m excited by this signing I reckon he’s gonna be our new captain
Bollard mentioned Embo and now Alese mentions Clarke, Cirkin and Neil. It's clear that having these young lads in and around the team and given young ambitious players a chance to play and grow is going to help us sign more of the same. Not only is it there to see but players talk to each other so when a player asks a player of similar age and background should he sign, he is only going to hear good things. I think this positivity from new signings is new as far as I can remember. Players are signing because they want the chance not because we are paying more or a holiday camp. The change in the club over the last 12 months or so is massive!
We've watched other clubs do this over the years while we stumbled from disaster to disaster. Once other clubs see you're a decent loaning option (as the teams from last year have) then they'll trust you with more. When young players at 'top' clubs who aren't quite ready to break through see young lads coming here, getting chances and developing then others see it and think they want a bit of it too. Not a bad transfer policy at all, we'll get some that don't work out for various reasons but there'll be some significant success stories amongst it.
I was talking to my son about that today. Might be a trio rather than pairing with the new lads either side of an experienced player. Wing backs. Obviously I am utterly clueless and have non idea but it’s a possibility!!
I wouldn't be surprised if he played a back 3. If he keeps us guessing as he did last season then I suppose they are guessing as well.
