Social media is such a strange place Replies to Brentford post/ssn ranges from He's a judas, he's potentially one of the best in the Prem, he's not ready, we've robbed them, great signing by Brentford Bizarre.
I honestly don't know why he picked them. There's every chance he'll be back in the Championship in 12 months. It screams of the same immaturity that we saw from him on the pitch too. I'd personally rather go to an established PL side so you've got time to adapt which he's really going to need. The first 6/12/18 months could definitely be a bit ropey, he's going to have to learn to use his left foot for starters
Be an interesting year for him. Bottom half sides are recruiting very well and Brentford don’t pay the wages to beat these sides to the players they want. He’s an investment clearly given the contract length so they’ve clearly got beyond this season in mind more than this one. Be interesting how he gets on
I've watched his 2 minute video compilation going around and he looks absolutely amazing. You then realise that if you can condense a player's good bits having played 46 games into 2 mins, it's probably fair to say he's got things to work on
Brentford and Leeds are 2 sides I expect to spend the season in and around the bottom 3. No disrespect, that second season syndrome really bites hard.
KLP has progressed well during his time with us, still young and very capable of further improvement. All the best to the lad, City have received a good fee, onwards and upwards!
Because Brentford were the only one's prepared to pay for him, seriously to us he was good because we never had anyone better, he obviously was not thought of in the same way by other premiership teams unless they never had to gamble paying the fee we wanted and he was desperate to play in the premiership. Now he has his wish for 38 games at least.
The only positive I take from this deal is we didn’t get Forss in part exchange. He was a ****ing useless donkey, Magennis and Eaves were more effective up front than he was.
Wish the lad well, hope he rips the premier league apart, however I think he has jumped too soon, far from the finished article imho, but when their head is turned then ya rarely gonna stop them leaving so decent business. At least with this owner my hope is that the money is reinvested into the squad, which already is looking pretty tasty.
How do work permits actually work? I know Sinik can probably get one because he’s capped by Turkey but what about that Ndayishimiye? Burundi aren’t ranked high enough for work permits are they?
It's done on the league they're in too since Brexit. The leagues are ranked and you earn points for the league you played in and how many minutes you play. The Turkish League is a considered like a 2nd tier league along with the Championship and Portugal so it's pretty straightforward (maybe the wrong word) to be accepted for a permit. I can send you a link to a full lowdown and explanation if you like, but it's a pretty dry read
We've always been written off, first when we came up to the championship, then when we lost in the playoff final and sold Watkins and Benrahma and again when we got promoted but ended up finishing 13th. We made some good signings last year like Chris Ajer and Yoanne Wissa and this year already have a hot young prospect in Aaron Hickey and pipped Man Utd to sign ex-Lazio and Albanian international keeper Thomas Strakosha. Midfielder Josh Dasilva is back from an injury that kept him out of last season and which is like a new £20m signing. Some great young prospects in the B team inc England u19 GK Matthew Cox and RB Daniel Oyegoke and we're about to sign rising Ukranian midfield star Yehor Yarmolyuk. Also chasing their star winger Mykhaylo Mudryk. So I can understand why to the outside world we may look amongst the favourites to gp down but the mood amongst us Bees is quite buoyant.
