I don't think you have to worry, look at that long list of competition! Great to see us targeting full backs though
Have you seen much of the potential new striker O. Estupinan? Only seen his you tube videos.... i could look half decent on you tube lol ..
Is that such a bad thing though if we also get his contribution on the pitch for 6 months, a year or however long? Sometimes we talk as if the only value KLP could have is the possible transfer fee that we could get for him. I'd argue that winning us games could be worth just as much.
This makes sense but it makes me wonder who keeps starting these rumours that a deal is close. Could it be from our end, trying to draw out other potentially bigger bidders than Brentford?
He probably is keen on a move really like Howden has been saying (and that's fair enough in my opinion) but that's the right thing to be saying whilst he is still here. Hopefully he does remain focused and committed if he doesn't get his move.
I think we're actually now in a place where we can be firm. Fundamentally, if we decide to keep KLP for 2 more years, then he's going nowhere. We'll get a garbage compensation fee from him but Acun is mad enough to do it. I'm assuming he's on something meagre like £3k a week, so there has to be a point when it makes sense for him to sign a new deal on probably over £15k. The longer this window goes on and he's still here, the more chance we have of getting him to sign a new deal. It would surprise me if Acun won't let him go for less than £30m
If I was him I'd sign a new deal anyway, if he keeps progressing and getting better then teams will buy him regardless of contract length, so why not sign a new deal with a large pay rise, use the new players around him to help improve his game, potentially be apart of a team that's challenging at the top end and who knows maybe go up to the prem with his home town team. It's a win win for him whatever happens imo
Seems the obvious thing to do doesn't it, but maybe we're biassed. His agent is probably advising against it as it means less money for him.
Agreed, and why I was so surprised he was keen to move this window when he has the chance to play in a better side and potentially attract the interest of a better side than Brentford. Surely Bowen is a good indicator of what a bit of patience can lead to.
I tend to disagree with this perspective, but acknowledge that a certain 20k* a week with Brentford is arguably better than a potential 40k* a week with Everton a year later. *Figures for example purposes only.
