really pleased with the way the club is being run now, not only keeping a squad together (still hopefull of broadhead - not ITK just wishing) but also improving it.

how often over the years have we managed to have a decent season with a strong finish only to have to replace 5 or 6 loan players and start again, we are not only showing other clubs that the club looks after young lads but also showing the young lads that should they put the work in, the club are not shy of offering a place...incentives all round and a great chance to keep that momentum going.

I'm absolutely thrilled that we've managed to get Clarke permanently, I thought a loan would have been the best we could manage.

Clarke has the vibe of an old school winger about him, the way he can drop his shoulder and dribble with the ball. A 4 year contract is a great deal for us and protects our investment.

Reminds me of Chris Waddle

I was talking to my father in law today who’s now housebound and telling him about Sunderland’s business so far I mentioned Jack Clarke and he asked who he was like. My first thought……..The Waddler! Looks lethargic and droopy legged and shoulders but then comes to life and can beat a man with ease. If he goes on to be half as good he’ll be a cracking addition
