Ive already said on a couple of occasions and will repeat I thought he was much improved in the two last vital games of the season when others were picking up needless red cards and gone missing. Ill repeat that and also that he may work better in the JM system rather than what was at times keystone cops stuff under Bielsa

Many years ago, an old friend of mine opened up after a few sherbets about a dilemma he had. He had a new girlfriend he really liked, but had a problem. Apparently one of her sexual preferences was to wear a strap-on and play daddy. It wasn't his thing and he had resisted thus far but it was deemed non-negotiable as part of the bedtime routine. Saw him a few weeks later and asked how things were... he replied 'well she's still my girlfriend'

    Never say never <laugh>

Every player gets slated though on here. What really pissed me off regarding Firpo was against scum when he made no effort to run back and they scored.<ok>

To my mind, he was one of the few players who didn't seem to get panicky during the last few games of the season. Many became headless chickens. To me that meant somewhere in Firpo is a footballing brain who has overcome his initial rashness.

Nice overhead from Archie for the 3rd. The kid is going to be a superstar. I saw him listening intently to what Rodrigo was telling him after one of the goals.
Nice save from Klaessen, he came out well. From the couple of times I've seen him he looks decent.

I don't underestimate these results because we normally struggle to beat York or Guiseley plus we basically played an U23 team for most of the 2nd half against a decent Championship club and held our own.

<laugh> <laugh>. I figured I'd set myself up for an 'asking for a friend' type comment. The guy, yes it really wasn't me, was a sex maniac. I guess he'd do anything for love... and he would do that!

ridiculous assertion… with my winning personality it’s obvious I don’t have any friends.

Does sound like wakey has experience of the subject matter though

Yeh I get that but have you ever asked yourself why ?

Ok I'll help by giving you some information you might find useful...

Firpo had been out injured/ill since 16th Jan and started the game against Scum (20th Feb) on the bench as he was clearly still working his way back to full fitness. Unfortunately Koch had to come off fairly early (31 mins) and Firpo got the nod to replace him which could somewhat explain why his energy level weren't as they should be by the time Scum scored that goal (70 mins). Also you should bear in mind we'd just put in a massive 25 mins after HT to somehow drag ourselves into the match after being 2 down The game was end to end and Firpo was expending a huge amount of energy up and down the left flank and in fact he was in Scum's box for both our goals. Oh and don't forget it was absolutely pissing it down all match as well so energy sapping conditions.

    Excuses ?

No not really but the lad couldn't help being knackered as shown by him going down on his haunches as the goal went in. That was on the edge of our box by the way, so he did get back but obviously not as quick as we saw him do against Brentford when fully fit.

I'm kind of playing around a bit about Firpo being **** (mainly for Blonos sake). However, he has earned a little bit of flak for his performances last year. His best game probably was away at Brentford but even then he was embarrassed by a nutmeg, the easiest nutmeg ever and we were lucky not to concede. That's in his best game.

Yes, there's the Scum game but there are also numerous occasions where the daft **** dives in, gets turned too easy and drags players down in the first 10 minutes and gets booked.

Genuinely what marks out of 10 would you give him for a first season here. Purely on performances. Take away anything else, just what you saw on the pitch.

He's lucky to get 2 or 3 out of 10. Probably one of the worst debut seasons I can remember.

I don't have to ask myself why, I've seen him play in the flesh and on tv, he was ****ing useless, now I hope he proves us, who like to have an opinion on players wrong, and he is indeed a great player because it will only benefit our club and the team. and I'm sure the doubters will give him the credit and adulation he deserves if he does.
I thought Bielsa wouldn't pick players who weren't 100% fit by the way
