Clearly Boris the numpty is covered with teflon and thinks his messy stuff doesn't stink. Seeing what has happened since my departure in 1975 makes me shudder for the future of the country because right now I don't believe there is anybody who can stop the rot that has destroyed most things English. Sadly if you sit back and just smell the roses you need to be careful and aware of who is sliding through the back door more than willing to change the status quo to modify thinking to their different cultures. Looking in from the outside after all these years I have to say that unabated immigration has to be your major downfall and, despite the pleas from the human rights activists, it has to be stopped but then unless you deal swiftly with the illegals and deport them the whole exercise would be a waste of time. The island is too small for everybody claiming to want a better life and it's time to support those who have earned the right and not those who show up on a southern beach. Boris what have you done you naughty boy?

It’s not lost on me how Gove is saying go as Johnson is untenable, but won’t quit like the others who have lost faith. The bloke is a weasel and probably sees himself as No1 pick with the 2 big resignations yesterday.

Unless he quits, which I don’t think he will, it’s hard to see how they get shot of him?

Don’t think he will. He will probably think this is someone else’s mess.

Hidden within the speech is the magnitude of the task affording the PM whoever it is .. far to many projects or irons in the fire ... the herd element like a stampede of wild horses chased by a number of predators ..... a SAD DAY

No one doubting the size of the task for whoever gets the role, and I don't envy them. No is also doubting the good things Boris has achieved. But they are hugely outweighed by the bumbling and mistakes, and too many occasions of turning a blind eye.

Boris and this government have failed us miserably on many aspects due to lack of forethought, lack of policies and lack of a clear direction in most things.

That's not what people voted for in 2019, pandemic or no pandemic.

Net Zero Policy - We emit 1% of the worlds CO2.
Few people can afford (or in my case even want) an electric car, and they are filthy polluters to build anyway with the mining of precious elements, and no-one knows what to do with spent batteries yet. Bury them in landfill and let them pollute the land maybe ?
We need to build more power stations asap. The modular ones by Rolls-Royce are supposed to be very good. Open or re-open coal mines, go fracking in Cumbria, drill for North Sea oil etc.

Brexit - Only half done. Just ask those in Northern Ireland or fishermen/women

Illegal Immigration and controlling our borders as a sovereign nation - Failed. Period

NHS - A national shambles. Don't get ill or need treatment !! 6.2m people on waiting list for surgery while we are paying hundreds of Hospital administrators £300k a year and doctors to work a 2-3 day week ?

Education - In a right mess and what exactly are our kids being taught these days ?

HS2 - Wasted billions of taxpayers money on a line that will save someone travelling from Manchester - London just 20 minutes.

Lockdowns - Too many which has now crippled our economy for generations. Also gave his cronies the opportunity to win contracts worth billions of taxpayers money for PPE

Raising Taxes - Corporation and personal National Insurance - Not something a Conservative government should ever do. It will also cripple small businesses paying 30% Corp Tax

Man Management - Simply non existent from where I'm standing

    And many many more failings.

I fully agree there is no obvious choice to replace Boris, and that shows how thin and bereft of genuine talent those in Westminster appear to be across all parties.

If it was down to me I'd like someone such as Lord Frost to take over, who at least seems to have a clue as to where the issues lie and more importantly what to prioritise.

Regardless of that, lets' put this in a more simplistic way

Boris is a cheat and a liar. He has made a professional and personal career out of both traits, and never once thought it would ever catch up with him or bite him in the ass for his cavalier approach.

    Well now it has.

I'm disappointed too, but something had to give.

I know I am getting older but the memory is still there I hope and I can remember some specific government statements prior to my departure for Canada. I seem to remember back in the sixties when North Sea gas and oil was discovered the government of the day promised that the people of the U.K. were going to get virtually free heating and low cost petrol and yet today you pay some of the highest prices for fossil fuels in the world particularly when they were once under your control. So what the heck happened to all of those bold statements? Did most of them get sold off to foreign countries which, if so, is a damning condemnation of successive governments and would appear to be in line with the sell-off of anything British that has a value. France and China having a major stake in Hinkley Point makes me bristle with anger after the boom it brought to Somerset in the sixties when everything was British down to the core. Many other examples of foreign takeovers make the situation even worse and the Germans running Thames Water and letting thousands of gallons of water run down the drains due to lack of maintenance makes me ask just who the hell lets this happen.

Perhaps Sarkozy is looking for a job in British politics and should be hired but then again perhaps Angela Merkel. Wake up Britain and take back control before the nasty people gobble you all up and spit you out in little pieces. Perhaps those huge jellyfish invading the beaches of Burnham-on Sea are a sign of the future. Well done Boris you idiot.

A GE won’t happen until the Tories get themselves together, but the new leader, whoever that is, will be under pressure from Starmer to call one ASAP (a logical and understandable call for an opposition to make)
In the meantime the pigs are all getting ready to fight over the trough………

Hopefully it’ll not be one of the ex cabinet, they backed Boris knowing what he was like, although they all jumped like rats from a sinking ship at the end. They’re all tarnished with the same brush.
