I take it you didn’t watch PMQs yesterday? The sinking ship deserting the rat and the charge of the lightweight brigade regarding Boris’s new cabinet posts were class and Boris had nothing to give back other than bring up Jeremy Corbyn. How you can still support this useless failing shower of ****e is beyond me, but each to their own.
I've worked with a few Boris Johnson types - the sort of person who genuinely thinks that the company will fall apart without them and that they have to keep going almost to the point of martyrdom. Outside of work they have few true friends and their family doesn't think that much of them. Right now Boris will be thinking that the country will go to wrack and ruin without him whilst at the same time he will be absolutely bricking it about his future as he will soon be a complete irrelevance in the greater scheme of things. That's why he will hang on until the last possible moment if at all possible.
Also worth noting is that the same MPs that have been wailing about convention for years are now horrified at the idea of a convention being honoured because it doesn't suit. I think he should go ASAP and as fast as the Tories can make it happen, before the usual 'if you're not screaming at them then you fully support them' bollocks gets started again. Always remember, rules only apply if it's convenient regardless of rosette colour.
FWIW I think it should follow the right process. Not enough of the right processes and rules have been followed that’s the problem. I’m a massive believer that the doing things ‘right’ following a fair just process makes a massive difference. All of this hasn’t been like that at all. Proroguing parliament, doing a version of Brexit that doesn’t respect the balance of opinion, the human rights act, PPE commissioning, Northern Ireland treaty. There are right ways of doing things and there wouldn’t be as many enemies waiting to shaft him if he’d followed respectful processes.
Boris Johnson commented that he hadn't seen such an empty cabinet since he was given a guided tour of newcastle's trophy room
You keep saying exactly the same thing, in slightly different ways ... ... as if it somehow excuses the PM's behaviour.
Not content with going once, he's insisting on humiliating himself and going twice ... ... he's an absolute joke but it's not funny.
So now BOTH leaders of the main parties at the last General Election have been kicked into touch by their respective parties. Jeremy because he finaly proved that he and his more extreme followers made his party unelectable. Now Boris, after being handed a huge majority, on a plate, for managing to screw it all up through the unbelievable arrogance of thinking that the normal rules just don't apply to him. This does all rather make a nonesense of the 'My Party Right or Wrong', approach.
It's a disgrace that Arnie wasn't allowed to run for US President tbh. How often do you get a republican governor of California who's remembered fondly?
