Not be from Durham? They’re probably asking stokes to move to a more suitable county, one that has put rightbtheir wrongs, like Yorkshire!!!
Not likely. No doubt they would both pass the Norman Tebbit Hertage Test. For the benefit of younger readers Mr Tebbit was/is a rather right wing Tory Grandee who was badly injured when the IRA tried to blow up Mrs T in a Brighton Hotel. He suggested a test to measure the loyalty of immigrants. He suggested asking immigrants whom they root for in a cricket match—their former country or Great Britain. And in any case these two are as British as the rest of us, having been born, educated and raised here. (And this is more than can be said of most BNP types who only qualify, at best, in two of those).
No fan of the ECB, obviously, but where a player like Stokes is registered makes little difference, as they hardly ever play for their county. and in any case Ben likes it here. ECB must be wriggling in their suits mind. The County they love to hate providing three key players again for the national team. As for Colly, for him, at least he is still among the team and squad. McCullum has rightly cleaned a lot of them out, and made them available to players if they want them, or if it seems to him and his small team that they might need them. Hopefully no more outrageous dabbling with fast bowlers!
Sorry if I got thay wrong. Relied on WIKI It was watching the last few overs and eventualy recognising him under his facial hair, wondered why he was so prominently placed.
Add one for Steve smith today. 28th test ton and 14th away from home. He’s an absolute freak of a batter to be fair. He’s also had about half the innings of root. Just looks a horrible player at the crease. Definitely not a “traditional” style at all.
He's also very good at obliging young impressionable players to take fluorescent sandpaper onto the pitch to scrub up the ball, and then blub publicly like a baby when caught and brought to book. He got the benefit of the doubt, including by me. Then, when his team were losing again, (coincidence you know), he attempts to scuff the pitch up with his spikes by rehearsing batting in a way he would never actually bat. Twice caught blatant cheat, he deserves all the stick he gets, wherever he gets it.
Pleased we beat the Aussies, if we had lost Jones might have been sacked! Atm India smashing us all around the ground
Good to see a match back on the BBC even though we got thrashed. Gleeson looks a very decent fast bowler on debut. Can’t really call him a prospect at 34, mind!
