Played golf this morning with a lad who's grandfather played for the lads, J R Gibson, (Jock) in 1922 before moving to Hull Fc 1923. He was a full back and was prevented from playing for Scotland due to being born in the USA. Wouldn't happen under Jack Charltons watch.
I wanted to go but couldn't have afforded tickets when first released. Going through bit of a ****e time back then. Seen a few selling tickets on twitter at a reasonable price, but was by then was bit short notice with my kids and sorting travel and stay etc... My favourite band but I was too young to see them first time around. Hopefully they have one more tour in them!
Today was first time I’ve ever seen a supermarket higher - that was also a Morrisons , 1p higher than the local garage which is usually the highest in area. Thieving tw*ts. There’s always some who get rich no matter what type of crisis.
Spot on summary of what's happening, supermarkets taking the piss. Prices vary from Shell 183.9, to BP 191.9 here, cheapest l have seen supermarkets here is 187.9. What bothers me also is the variation between Tesco stores here. 3 local Tesco's can be as much a 5p difference in a 10 mile radius. Possibility of Tesco might franchise out the petrol stations?
Our local spa was 189.4 so thought I would drive up to Morrisons in Kendal, last time I went 179.89, when the clock went over £70 I looked at the price It was 189.9, so I’d drove about 15 miles to pay .5p a ltr more than the pump in the village
I agree we need action , but not at the inconvenience and danger to the public( like the insulate idiots did) Maybe everyone ignore Shell garages until they reduce by a reasonable amount ,then ignore the others til they follow suit.
I was over the North East at the weekend and the Spar garage in Kirkby Stephen which is in the middle of nowhere was selling petrol 2p less than the Tesco Superstore in Stockton. Robbing bastsrds.
The problem is some people can't not buy fuel due to work etc and it appears they are all about the same price now so not like you can go to one over the other. There is a petrol station near me with one pump, I used to think how on earth do they sell any fuel when they charge about 30p-50p more than anywhere else? They are now the same price as everywhere else! Still convinced they were selling something else in there like as no idea why people would go there. Was even a difficult forecourt to pull in to by look of it.
No petrol in Newton Stewart today. Managed to get diesel. No idea what the problem is, stopped caring now tbh. It's just one thing after another.
That’s always been my idea as well, also do the same with banks, but how do you get people to join in?
I hope you wrote that in whisper format Smug. Look what happened last time one person noted that one garage was temporarily closed and the media latched onto the info.
For a small town we're lucky to have three petrol stations, being situated between Dumfries and the Ireland ferry from Stranraer. We only need petrol for chainsaws, mowers, etc, so it's not critical but it must be a nightmare for some.
Costco is a decent way to get the fuel a bit more reasonable. 188/191 for premium. Only 181 for unleaded. I say ‘only’ but I mean compared to the 189 seeing most places it adds up.
