I'm sure the recruitment team already know that and I'm sure it's in their planning for the recruitment, just because Borini has been offered doesn't mean they won't prefer the players they were already after, I'm sure Roberts could play on the left if needed considering Clarke is actually right footed. Borini was class on loan when he was trying to prove a point to Liverpool, when they didn't want him he waited till the last minute to see if anyone else came in before he signed for us, he didn't actually want to be here. Would he really want to come back or is that just because no one is queuing up for him. He probably has plenty ability to be successful in the championship but I don't think he's the right fit for us
Mannone available on a free transfer, would be a fantastic number 2 and also help bring Patto on in leaps and bounds. No brainer to me
Someone who can play the same role as Evans is a priority for me, I don't think we have anyone to cover his role. An experienced holding midfield player that looks as if he does not do too much, because he is always in the right position to get the ball deep and move it to the attackers.
He started almost every game second half of the season. Borini didn't start 5 games after Boxing Day, N'Doye after coming in Jan only started 4 games and only featured in one win Borini was a much more important player for Sam
Played as a wing back quite a few times on both sides for Milan, notably against Inter in the derby marking Perisic.. I’m sure he’d manage as a stop gap marking James McLean if we were to be out of naturals I don’t think we’ll sign him, but he could definitely be of use if we did. I wouldn’t be disappointed to have him in the squad.
Not saying he is coming. Only stating his second spell was not a complete disaster. We don't know what profile of player we are after, we will not only be going for 22 year old academy grads. Both him and Speakmann have discussed the balance in ages of the squad of being right last season. Neil has only used what's available we don't know what system he will want to set up with going forward.
I have to say I think that is an outstanding signing for them. I am a big fan of him. That is two positions they have upgraded this summer so far. If they get the left back from Brighton they will take some stopping.
Yep, but when he’s got pretty much every premier league team after his signature I’d hedge my bets and say as long as I’ve got a hole in my arse he isn’t coming here unfortunately. Not down to the club getting it wrong, simply the fact that we can’t offer what the likes of Liverpool/City can. Someone will sign him and send him out on loan. I’d go for Hannibal Mjebri from United on loan. Massive potential and enough quality already to dictate championship games. James Mcatee would be some signing anarl but think he might be in and around city’s first team squad this season playing cup games.
I agree. Matete is a good lad but too headstrong for that role. The lad from Plymouth looks a prospect as well. But it's a tougher job than it looks and key to how we play.
Must just be me who can’t see Phillips going straight into their starting Xl. They normally play 3 in the middle and that’s 1 holding mid which is Rodri who’s arguably the best in the world in that position right now, there’s no way he’s getting dropped. Then KDB and another in the middle, normally Bernardo or Gundogan. Would you drop either of those for Phillips? Certainly has more energy but he’s better suited as a holding midfielder not a creative one, and they don’t need another on the pitch.
