If Raphinha stays would everyone be happy with just signing CDK and getting Adams on loan as I think that’ll be what happens. Not enjoying this Raphinha saga as it stands, keeps dragging on when I’d rather it be done. Wonder if he’ll be back at training tomorrow.
No. I have major reservations on CDK. There's just something I don't quite like about him. I'm not sure he would get the space needed over here and might be crowded out too easily. I have come to this conclusion after a 3 minute youtube video so I have been very thorough in forming that opinion. Adams is very good. Has all the attributes to be a success here but I'm concerned about his record for missing games through injury. He only finished 8 games last season. It's almost like they have to nurse him through a season. We don't need another injury prone player.
Don’t expect that Marquee signing to replace Phillips or Raphinha if he goes. Orta was speaking yesterday and he said we had to cash in on Phillips as we overspent the previous two season. As someone pointed out on Twitter, we need to sell those two because we brought in Rodrigo, James and Firpo, that’s surely a sackable offence. Anyway, this post isn’t about Phillips going or staying, just pointing out a £40m signing is highly unlikely based on those words by Orta
I think I mentioned elsewhere, it’s a worrying scenario when you can’t put a YouTube video together to look good. Even Augustin looked better in his video best bits I don’t like the look of CDK one bit, Adams on loan if Raphinha stays but saying that I want him out now, I just think this saga will be bad for the dressing room. I’d like Rodrigo out too, I think he stirs the **** and divides players if I’m being honest. I’d rather Rodrigo leave than that other **** player we have who’s name escapes me, maybe Blono can help me out
I don't want Rapha here now he's played his cards he wants out. I want players 100% committed to the cause. Yes, his transfer saga is now becoming complicated but he's the one making it complicated I hope it's delt with soon rather than later. As on De Ketelaere I'd be very surprised if we land that one. We may be interested but let's be honest we have nothing to offer him other than regular first team football. How do we as a club who were nearly relegated sell the club to a lad who wants to play Champions League football when our two best players are on the verge of leaving? we are miles aways I'd be very surprised unless he wants to use us as a steppingstone similar to Rapha.
Media like to say CDK is the new De Bruyne. I don't see that at all. He instantly reminded me of Bergkamp the way he drops deep, and floats those passes in to areas for the other players to run on to. There doesn't seem to be much else there. Doesn't appear that pacey. Looks physically like he needs a bit more muscle on him. Doesn't really play on the last man and doesn't have a nasty streak. What I call a luxury player. He'll either turn out to be world class or disappear in to oblivion over the next couple of years. There's just something that doesn't sit right with me. Something missing. It might be that he is THAT good at dropping off and picking passes that the other stuff doesn't matter and I'm not seeing just how good he is at it.
Might have been worth a punt 18 months ago at 10 million or so but a club record fee of 35 million is too much. If it goes wrong then it's a millstone round our necks for the next few years.
Hmmn. I thought de ket looked really good on those same videos. Agree with emu on the bergkamp comparison… that was my first thought. Looked like good feet and balance, decent pace. Might be a bit lightweight at 21 for the pl… always hard to assess. gapko on the other hand reminded me of jay roy grot funny how we can all watch the same thing and see things differently
Reminded me of a young Bamford and maybe at a bit of a stretch even Viduka and if we're ever going to get anywhere other than mid table then these are the type of hot young prospects we need to take a chance on and hope they work out. By the way I'd me more than happy with mid table for the next few seasons.
I agree jamster, I’m fine with the players we’ve bought and are being linked to and Mid table this season would be an excellent result given Phillips/Raphinha situation. Staying up is the goal.
Every season Howard Wilkinson used to say the same things; Get the first clean sheet. Get the first win on the board. Get to 40 points. Nothing's changed and the day you start taking things for granted in football is when it come and bites you in the bum. Hopefully the club, players and staff have all learn't the lesson from last season and we hit the ground running from August 6th.
Yeah, happy to say De Ket could be THAT good at what he does that he can do it at any level. If he can't and he needs that space to operate in I'm afraid he just won't get it in this league. It's looking like 35 million for what is essentially a lad with potential. Looks high risk to me. For once we'll have to differ on Gakpo mate. Looks the real deal to me. (It's amazing how we are all experts after watching 3 or 4 minutes on youtube).
yeh I liked Phil da costa from his video- It’s meaningless. Just everyone jumped on how bad de ket looked on his highlight reel, where as gakpo’s goals all were a collection of scruffy miskicks and there was no sign of pace or ball skills. I’m sure this was just a reflection of editing rather than ability, just amused me how we could all leap to different conclusions from a few minutes of footage.
He’s the journalist. His latest tweet was ignore all the other stuff you’re hearing. He is in the UK and will be signing this week
What he’s legit or not? Has he got things right in the past? I’ve seen on Twitter more mention or Adams for 13m which is decent value I’d say but not much about Camara.
I think this backs him up. ⚪️ According to information from the Kronen Zeitung, Mo Camara has agreed a transfer with Leeds and could become a record transfer for Salzburg with a transfer fee of € 35 million (if bonuses apply) #RedBullSalzburg #LUFC #inundaut
