Charles Leclerc, who finished fourth for Ferrari:"It was nice, on the other hand I had hards and everybody else was on softs. In the end I gave my absolute best. "It wasn't enough and obviously its disappointing." [On his chat with Mattia Binotto post-race] "He wanted to cheer me up and that's it. "We will have to look at the global picture. From my side I only have my race. From my side I feel like I lost so much time. This is only my view but I have not seen the full picture. "I don't want the focus to be pointed to my disappointing race. For my teammate to win a first race in Formula One is very special."
The fact it didn't burn with 100kg of fuel in there is amazing. He is very very lucky indeed. I wonder if he had a helmet cam as well. It would be fairly intense footage if he had.
Alonso adamant that Charles should get a penalty for weaving on the straights in front of Lewis. Not even under investigation as far as I know.
I have to say it was great entertainment. I really enjoyed all sorts of different aspects of the race as it never stopped evolving.
Alonso has been on the receiving end of these penalties twice (I think?) this season, so not surprised he's expecting others to receive the same treatment. Once again, we're left with a debate about how rules are applied. Weaving, track limits and leaving space all seem to have been abused today without penalty.
Battling to get home and will post full thoughts later. Incredible day. Got what I wanted which was seeing Hamilton at his best - despite it not quite falling for him. Also very very happy not to have to endure a Verstappen win. Can't believe Perez got away without a penalty there.
Home after the weekend. Lots to digest but for now, two things: What a ****ing race. Thank goodness for the HALO and that all drivers escaped without serious injury this weekend.
Hope everyone thet went loved it! Was at the 92 grand prix there and that was one of the best days ever! Loved every single second of it. I really should try get to Austin this year, depending on how crazy life is.
