if you could take 3 players from tonights opposition who would they be???

    A genuine attempt at a bit of cross board banter for the build up today lads.

    I you could/had to sign 3 players from the oppositions current squad who would you choose?? they don't necessarily have to be preferred to who we have at present but if you had to sign 3.

    As a geordie I'd say

    Huth - Good defensive competition for what we already have. Although ex smoggie.

    Shawcross - same as Huth really good reliable defender.

    Pennant - now hes had his lugs pinned and sorted himself out off the pitch he can be a right handfull on his day and i think his crossing ability is very underated.

    Huth has been on the bench for the last few games.

    I'd say

    Jones - Big, powerful player that could cause us a lot of problems.

    Shawcross - A rock in their defense.

    Etherington - Not as fast as pennant, but a great crosses of the ball, and could deliver well for their aerial threats.

    Pennant - seems to have improved his end product from his earlier days and would provide us with a version of Obertan who can actually cross a ball (although I do think Obertan can and will improve over the next few months)

    Woodgate - not cause we need him, but cause I loved him so much when he was here in his first spell. Was a top player on his day, probably not so much any more

    Huth - good player imo, but wouldn't be happy to sit on the bench behind Saylor.

    To be honest, I don't think there's anyone from Stoke who would improve our first XI too much except maybe Pennant. Stoke's strong areas are the same as our strong areas and the same can be said for the respective weak areas....

    If i could simply just sign rory delaps arms i would sign those too. I'm not that arsed about the rest of him though.
