I was looking at the fixtures for the sports washing gladiatorial games.

in a normal world cup sequence we would probably either be just finished the group stage. We really should have won the group given its iran, usa and wales.

We would be headed towards probably a run of fixtures that might have looked like on Senegal this midweek, then France at the weekend, then Belgium in the semi in the midweek and then Brazil in the final about 2 weeks time.

But we are not. We are going to NOT watch this bastardised sports washing bloody tournament in November and December and its going to **** up the whole season.

England India today. England bowling, taken one wicket already.

    38-1

The final test of the series from last year that was called off for covid outbreak. Chance to level up the series

I nthe end the series is pointless. its about test ranking points. 3 wins in a row has helped england there.

we are now 5th and australia are 1st purely down to absolutely hammering us. We can go 4th with a win? NZ are just ahead.

our issue is we play double the games of some others and draw or lose half them so we are firmly mid table.

cricket tipping along well for england thus far.

105/5 for india with potts having 2 and anderson 3.

pant is in sbut there not much of a tail here so this could be a good position (ruined by bad weather no doubt)

Decent. Little partnership here though. 160-5.

hadn’t turned on since the early lunch break because of the rain.

Brand the proud owner of the worst record in 2 forms of cricket.

    35 off one over here.

36 off one over in odi.

Well done Stuart Broad. Go big or go home.

Completely let India off the hook here. Rain is kill the game as a contest and robbing time.

Only England can **** this or win this as they'll have to odi the score to get close in time or odi and lose all the wickets.

Well this is the one where England get handed their heads

No such thing as any sense as stokes is playing risky t20 shots 300+ deficit with 5 wickets left.

Rain is all that can save England now.

    And yes this is...

Great knock again by Bairstow. Others didn't step up. It should be a draw having avoided the follow-on, but certainly not a given

Not shocked in the slightest stokes went for 25.

You cannot be charging down at a Premier test bowler and expect to last long.

At some point England will be handed their heads with this type as its not really test aggression but just swinging away and far far too much.

whats the thoughts on chasing totals this time?

i am not seeing heavy rain forecast?

india have 257 lead with 7 wickets in hand.

    450 could happen.

2 days to bowl so how long will india want to bowl at us and what level of time/runs is tempting for our idiots to go gung ho and lose?

i think set 400 with a session plus 1 day left and that could be interesting

    203/6.

    6 quick wickets.

most important its officially "the tail" so england will once concede another 10-200 runs like... as per...

    335 lead

    successful chases

    South Africa v England 283-5 (target 281) - 2008
    England v New Zealand 211-3 (target 208) - 1999
    West Indies v England 157-3 (target 152) - 1991
    England v Australia 124-2 (target 121) - 2015
    England v India 121-2 (target 121) - 1996

    hmmmmm....

Should have reviewed the ****er there. India have a much fuller attack than NZ so a chase won't be anywhere near as straightforward. Will be interesting, but India favourites.
