I doubt a lot will change with how they run the club tbh.

I mean the DoF of football has already said we have an excellent squad and don’t need many players so clearly the expectation is for Edwards to get on with it and aim for promotion.

Basically he will be under the same pressure as the rest before him for instant results .

Doubt they'd get away with it if they were blokes. Reverse sexism, but you all know if they were blokes, it'd be carnage there.

And is the profit calculated using just the initial fee paid or does it take into account any add-ons too? I've never been clear on that.

So, we paid 11.5 millionish supposedly say, Spurs pay 50 million. Does that mean we get around 3.9 million? or is my maths totally fregado as per usual.

It is 10% on anything over 40m apparently.
So if they sell for 50m then we get 10% of 10m.

It's not based on what we paid for him, it's based on what we later sold him for.

It was nice to read a message from the club owner, but he does not really say anything of great substance. However, he does give the impression that he is still committed to the club, which is reassuring because I was beginning to see some similarities with what happened at Granada before they were sold.

The first seven years were very successful, but the last three years have been disappointing. The Covid pandemic and the repeated failure to strengthen the defence contributed to the two relegation seasons. Constant changes of managers undermined any possibility of continuity. Even the promotion season was problematic: the dour Ivic and some fairly uninspiring football interspersed with occasional brilliance from players such as João Pedro and Sarr. Fortunately, the enthusiasm of Muñoz and a good run of results in the second half of the season ensured promotion. Then - following Watford's return to the Premier League - the midfield was weakened by the departure of Hughes and Chalobah.

If you are running a business of any sort the last thing you want is uncertainty. You put off getting more staff or investing in new systems until you can see which way things are likely to work out. The pandemic certainly became a major cause of just that. No one knew how long it would last, or when the tills could open again to take in the fans money. There was also the problem of getting work visas for promising players that might bring a good return to the club. Too many fans only want to see a winning side naturally, but the business side needs to function well in the background to make that happen.
I do hope that Gino is a bit more forthcoming in the future. We don't want to wait another ten years.
