A few pennies would certainly be useful in our bid to avoid falling foul of FFP

 

This FFP threat isn't going away on this site and it is starting to worry me quite a bit. Realistically how close are we to falling afoul of these restrictions and what could be the ramifications? The mere thought of starting the season on a negative points basis is not what we need at anytime yet alone with a somewhat new and unproven squad. Is it poor management decisions in the player market or mainly due to the loss of income during the Covid pandemic that has led us to this sad situation? I always thought that the sell off of our better players in recent years would have put us in a much better place than most but for some reason it's all gone pear shaped on us just when we hoped for a lot better. Would I be anywhere close to the problem if I were to mention the name of a person who must have believed that the stadium was named after him? When does the FFP mob mete out their punishments and are we seriously on the radar?

 

Friday 1st

The general consensus seems to be we’re ok this season, next season is when we may be in trouble, so any funds we receive now can go towards plugging any shortfall.

My understanding is that it based on a 3 year period, so this year the figures from the season before COVID are included, next year they are not.

 

Janneh adds a few bob to the pot ... sad really goes to Cambridge, hopefully he will do well and maybe attract attention and get sold and we get a further lump sum sum ...

There is quite a few ex BCFC players plying their trade in the championship now lets hope they do not haunt us in the coming season like Ayling did!

 

Last seasons accounts were 1 of profit and 2 of losses we carry the big loss for this season and next.

Reading between the lines, I’d say we need to move players out now, before bringing anymore in, maybe with the exception of a central defender as Cundy has left and Baker is likely to have played his last game.
