For me, Black is worse. He was like **** in a field during the mid 90s-2000s and not funny once. Sandler stuck to films, but Jack was trying everything, tv, film, music.
I'm guessing I won't be able to persuade you but he's not playing one of his goofy characters like in the Waterboy, just an ordinary bloke. He was in one called Punchdrunk Love back in the day which was pretty much a straight role and he surprised a few people by being good at it and it not being anything like an 'Adam Sandler film'. Like I say I know I'm pissing into the wind here but Hustle is so good it's worth a shot.
Aye decent film, I don't known owt about basketball. So much so I had no idea half the cast were professional players current or ex. I like the format of underdog making it sports films so was decent. Sandler seemed like he could be a better serious actor than he will get credit for. All cause his comedy is ****e once you are over 14!
Fair enough. I've never seen a movie where he isn't doing that annoying squeaky nasally voice and making **** jokes. I'll give it a whirl I always hated Jim Carrey until I watched Man in the Moon.
I don't know much myself, unlike other American sports I don't mind watching it but I couldn't name many players. I think I only recognised Shaq from the film, whether you know them or not though it gave it great authenticity.
Yeah there's none of that mate it's a pretty serious film on the whole. Some funny lines but it's nothing like his early stuff.
Just finished watching seven great movie and one night last week watched jaws first time in years great story good acting particularly robert shaw when he does a monologue about the indianapolis sinking
Brilliant film, some people get it and some don't. I used to say to my son that Carey is more like Andy Kaufman than Andy Kaufman is
Haha. There's a documentary about a film crew following him about while making the film that they released 20 years later. I think it was on Netflix. Worth a watch.
Looking through the thread there is quite a few for The Godfather. James Caan has died today aged 82. Thought he was excellent in Misery along with Kathy Bates. First film I ever seen him is was Rollerball...remember that one? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-62087285
Anyone seen Thunderbolt and Lightfoot? Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges. I don’t remember it ever getting much hype and could be classed as a “B” film, but it’s a good story and the part Jeff Bridges plays is brilliant
Watched The Pianist last night. Set in Warsaw at the start of the Second World War. True story, very moving and harrowing at the same time. Well worth a watch.
