Here's a reason why music is so screwed. We're trying to put on a Fable show at the beginning of August for the album launch. There's hardly anywhere available now, but there's a cool little place (only 150 capacity) in Hackney that have August 5th free. It's a £500 flat hire fee, plus a minimum bar spend of £2,500. So you need 70 people there spending £40 each to just cover any venue costs. Let alone being able to give the artist any travel expenses etc... Completely bonkers.

Brilliant. And exactly why I know I’d hate “Glasto” with a feral passion. I went when it was called “Glastonbury Fayre” and it was quiet and peaceful (though the Pink Fairies were pretty loud) and, even better, free ….. It didn’t seem that busy either, but I was <ahem> “under the influence” for most of it (I blame my friends) so I don’t recall a huge amount I can’t think of anything worse now …… Think I’m getting old ……
