    Afternoon all

Hope you don’t mind me kicking off a bit of a supporters thread for Silverstone 2022?!

I am finally attending my first GP having been a fan since the mid 90s, but having really got back into it these last few years, so the opportunity has come up and can’t wait to finally try it.

As a complete novice and newbie to the event, I’d welcome any knowledge, thoughts and tips or advice from those of you that have done it before.

Il be 3 day camping, completely open to trying what’s on offer so any thoughts, do let us know!

    Anyone else going?

We expect you to make your presence known on TV while there, in a way we know it is you. So a banner with words we know only come from you please.:emoticon-0105-wink:

Hope you have a great time, where are you camping and sitting at the track?

Guaranteed not to be shown then!! You could do a Prince Charles immitation and limply wave a Union Jack. Or perhaps Prince George and stick your tongue out while touching your nose with your thumb.

Following this thread as I'm also going for the first time - despite watching almost every F1 race since the early 2000s. Can't wait! Just coming for the Sunday however.

So think my viewing points will be at Stowe <ok>

Not expecting to see an incredible amount of action so I’m assuming there’s some screens to follow the rest of the lap?

Anything anyone recommends doing in terms of the the entertainment on offer?

Looking forward to soaking up the atmosphere regardless!

I have followed F1 since 1981 When John Watson won the British GP.

    Didn’t go to my first race , Spa , in 1996 .

Do I ever regret not going a lot sooner .

I never got to see Senna drive

I know that if I never get to see Hamilton drive live I'll regret it forever.

Would love so much to see him win. Appreciate that won't be this Sunday, but perhaps next year.

If I get there for 0830 I'm guessing it will be too late to walk to any of the general admission views? I'm better off just heading to my grandstand at that point right?

I don’t honestly know , but I would suggest trying my way ?

Your grandstand seat is there for you anyway , so give it a try ?

Good point. Would be nice to see the F3 or F2 race from a different vantage point if possible.

Hope you brought some waterproofs!! Looks like you could be in for some good action on the track. Rain is definitely a car equaliser.

I'll bring a brolly and my waterproof. Can't actually remember if I'm under cover or not.
