The last two transfer windows have thrown up big shocks with Bent then Gyan doing a runner, will January be the same and if so who? I donât think it would be a big shock to see Gordon or Cattermole go, Gordon I hope not but would understand why, Cattermole must be feeling it, a regular substitution then on the bench, Saturdays introduction of Meyler must have hurt. But who would be a shock, Bendy doing a runner, Sess, I ant think of anyone else who would shock me. With Bruce going public about trying to tie up a permanent deal for Bendy it will let us all know if we have a chance, if he does not sign is he biding his time or just looking at us as a stepping stone. Will we have any shocks coming in? All the usual suspects are in the gossip colums but how about a Owen type signing or a Bramblest signing out of the blue. I guess that November will be a big month in lots of ways, lets hope we wont get those winter blues in January.
Another Sessegnon like last January would be great! Funny how left back isnt looking so bad with Ricco getting better and better and left wing still not occupied with a natural left footer however does anybody care when Sess is on fire down that side? Hell No. Striker looks like the only position we will be short in if Bendtner or Whickham gets injured and maybe centre back seen as Bramble looks a lost cause. Onouha & P Cisse and that would be a good transfer window.
Onuoha and Bendtner would be a start lads we also need a very good CB still think Samba would be a good buy for us, that's 3 at the very least total cost up to 20mil maybe more. Richardson has had 2 good games at LB and is still not the answer so that'll be another LB we are now up to 4 players. That is far too much without shipping players out and as said who goes, Catts possibly Gordon definitely (no contract talks big mistake by the club in my opinion). Then it'll be fringe players none of those will bring in anywhere near the cash we will need to strengthen the team, that I reckon is what Ellis Short will be wanting just can't see him spending too much money in January.
Well according to this mornings Guardian AJ refused to get on city's team bus after the cup win against wolves. Clutching at straws but wouldn't mind him here.
Adam Johnson scored on Saturday playing for Citeh. That put's that one to rest. Sunderland have attempted to loan Raphael Da Silva from Utd in January, Fergie said he can't split him up from Fabio and Fabio is very much part of his plans this season. This is from a friend of mine who knows the Da Silva twins personally. Shows Bruce is after full back options.
A centre half to replace Bramble, a left back and a right back are priorities as we are paper thin in thses areas. Nedum would fot the bill for me too as he can cover both right back and centre half. Also agree about making an auditious loan bid for AJ and make Bendtner permananet. If we have any dosh left then we can look at another striker but I wouldnt be blowing 18m on this lad Cisse at all. Anything more than 10m and we should tell them to do one imo. I know many in here will disagree but I'd rather take Michael Owen on loan until the end of the season personally.
Many knock him Cest but he still bangs the goals in. A front two of Bendy and Wickham and Owen from the bench for impact, sounds good to me.
Thing is, he isnt ever going to play for Man Utd first team as he is 4th or 5th choice. At 30, he is hardly ancient and for 5 months, he would be involved in our first team for wages only. I cant believed that someone like Everton havent gone for him to be honest, as he probably would rather be NW based and could walk into their team over the likes of Saha imo. He was an Evertonian as a young lad as well I believe (as was Jamie Carragher interestingly enough).
To be honest lads dispite what we think Bruce sees Ricco and Bardo as our Lbs. I don't think he is desperate for a winger with Sess doing well there and McClean waiting in the wings. I am certain we will spend all the money available on a striker and CB Cisse and Onouha would do for me.
I dont think we have a hope for Onouha with his mam having cancer, not sure how bad/good she is doing but cant see it being cleared by January, and if it isnt, he wont want to leave the NW which is totally understandable.
Such a shame for the lad. I did read in the weekend papers about a bid of £3m from QPR (I think it was) in January, but like you say, he won't want to leave the NW. £3m is a snip for a player of his quality.
