He doubled down on it the other week by repeating it too. It was a bit of a gaff that as there's a fair few City fans that think he's actually worth £30m. I'm well chuffed with the current deal on the table as I'd have taken £12m
I wouldnt. And it's a first serious bid. No way I'd accept it without seeing what else comes in. BUT, it's a good baseline valuation.
He was always going to leave that was not in doubt and Brentford was always the front runners, whether more come in for him don't know but think he is Brentford bound.
if he is, it's cos that's the best we can get. I usually hate agents, but having one working for us gives me confidence that there are no other suitors willing to pay more.
Obviously, given 16+ is now on the table. Hope Sharky doesn't have ambitions to become a CEO. And it ain't a gaff if it gets us even 500k more.
But honestly, is it? Olise went for £8m, it was a buyout though. Brooks went for around £12m. Eze went for around what we're getting for KLP. Am I missing anyone? Oh Dan James went for £15m and Josh Murphy went for around £11m
Honestly, it's more down to me watching foreign football more often. You get caught up in those numbers and leagues and it's why the numbers players go for in the UK is baffling
Dan James scored 4 goals Murphy scored 7 goals Brooks 3 goals None of these players played in a team that didn’t go above 18th either. Point is £12m is insulting to a team who doesn’t need to sell their best player/top scorer.
I get this though. Whilst it’s obviously still a good market to be involved in, the premium you pay is daft. We should just be taking full advantage of it, had Forest gone up Brennan would’ve been the one they were fighting for, KLP is second to him so now we charge that premium
Dan James is a good example, though if we had an academy at the time it could have been us getting the 15m, not Swansea. What did he go to. Leeds for? 9m? 6m loss for Manure? ... And there would almost certainly have been Swansea fans hand wringing over 15m being too low. If KLP isn't going to sign, then we get the best deal we can get. Simple.
Yep, Forest going up has helped. I'm finding the Turkish division hilarious though and it feels like a Turkish Market. Everything seems to be available at a knockdown price. You seem to be looking at £2m for a goalscoring forward. And it seems that unless you're one of the big 4, you're unlikely to be selling players for over £5m. It appears they take the best of the league and then try to flog them to elsewhere in Europe a few years later
Well that ****s that argument then. Hahah! Seems overpriced. But also makes sharkys 12m look derisory. Bottom line is though if he won't sign a new deal, we have to sell. Hands are tied.just gotta get the most we can.
I'd have wanted £12m guaranteed mind rising to £15m. I'm just very keen that we actually get this money, I know Acun is saying he's not bothered about the money but it's £15m he doesn't have to put his hand in his own pocket for. I don't want this dragging on till Jan or next summer. He's done great for us, and is a ringing endorsement for our academy. It's now looking at who's going to be next
It's not like previous years though. We can spend without needing to sell first. If he goes in Jan we might be able to get a replacement before he goes and avoiding a last minute scramble for an... Erm... James Scott.
I just wouldn't risk it, you only need him to get a bad injury or have a slow start and then his price tag slashes significantly.
