Yes, and players/clubs do their bigger moves in the Summer (generally). We'd be lucky to get £25 million for him next Summer and prospective buyers will know that and wait a few months.
But they were always likely to go...it's what we do with the xfer cash that's important. Spurs twice wasted Madrid's cash on xfers of Modric and Bale.
Exactly I’ve been saying this all along if he lifts the World Cup and comes away with 5-6 goals and 5-6 assists the big guns will all be wanting him they won’t wait 18 months and risk him having a choice of where to go and if they flash enough cash the Euros will be spinning around in his agents eyes
Only because needs must at the time due to the players we had/have. He’s now bringing in his own players this summer to suit his system I believe which is why we might end up getting 3 RB players.
I'm sat here thinking why on earth do you think we will sign 3 right backs, then realised you meant Red Bull
Really? 25m is low for the numbers Harrison has produced. He’s English and consistently produced decent numbers in the top flight so I’d expect more like 40m if we were to get rid of Harrison. Not his biggest fan by any means but selling Raphinha, Phillips and Harrison in the same window would be suicide. Harrison and Raphinha are the only players that have produced in the final 3rd along with Gelhardt and what if Bamford never recovers from his injury, wouldn’t be a good place to be in.
Exactly this. There’d be an auction which would push the price up. Clubs bidding against each other trying to outdo one another on a glorified ego trip.
That’s the point, he’s not wedded to a specific system (one that doesn’t seem to work in the prem as scum found out with the creator of the 4-2-2-2)
he seemed to have some sort of hybrid going on. He claims he’s not wedded to a system/formation and likes fluidity, but the key thing with him is this aggressive zonal press and that requires a narrow set up. maybe at the end of the season he was being pragmatic to get results as his message wasn’t getting through. Who knows.
well that certainly fits a wingerless formation. My guess is de ket if he came would be the second striker, he can play 9 and 10. not sure about struijk and koch… either individually or as a pair. I wonder where all this transfer activity… if it happens will leave Rodrigo
