Chelsea fans going mad about the prospect of Colwill going, to the extent none of them believe it will happen. Annoying Chelsea fans is another big positive I can see.
A central defensive triangle of Salisu, Kotchap (or Colwill) and Bazunu in goal is likely to be erratic at times (but probably also amazing at others)
Losing one of our top young prospects would be huge shame, especially if it is just due to money rather than better facilities/club. It makes it worse that we pride ourselves on bringing through these players and haven't had a top player come through for ages, hope he doesn't become a "what if"!
Again this is logical really. Clinging on to players via loan doesn’t make sense and seemingly isn’t possible anymore anyway His pathway is well and truly blocked. Hopefully the fee isn’t too silly though given he hasn’t played many games. If Lavia’s is truly 10m with 2 years left and not being a striker then Delap’s could be crazy. But maybe it rises to 10m We’d still need another striker though
Ffs, 2 of our only good prospects in years hoovered up by Saudi money that shouldnt even be in the game. Don't think there is a thing the club can do either other than offer them a pay rise and promising of route to the first team, but we can't compete with what Newcastle could offer financially.
Its fine we’ll just sign them when they are 18/19 and Newcastle first team has improved to the point where they aren’t getting a look in
I guess, but you dont often get rumours about youth players that are just made up by agents/journos so i do believe it. This is all I could find:
Does seem a weird move for them and for Newcastle. For them 6.5k a week is huge, especially for a 16 year old and they are signing for a club which is likely to be challenging at the top end of the table in the future. But a club that is rich af and wants to win things is not likely to be a club that promotes youth and gives them a pathway to first team football. And we very much are that, more so than ever it seems.
