I didn't hear what was said but read the bbc article so can imagine it was a nasty sort of comment that he's got form for so he should get landed on and ostracised.

 

Always been a nasty man.

 

Never been a fan of Piquet. He's quite an unpleasant man.

Jackie Stewart made some pretty daft comments recently too. Something about how he should quit and join the rag trade. Thought it was a bit ridiculous tbh.

 

I do wonder if some of these ex F1 drivers say controversial stuff just to keep their names in the press. Bit like Jacques Villeneuve and his comments - it's all about creating headlines to keep their profiles in peoples faces. Something about 'no publicity is bad publicity'!!!

I agree up to a point .

Jaques Villeneuve , Ralf Schumacher .

they come out with nonsense once in a while , NP comes out with nasty spiteful comments .

I liked him in his Brabham days , he could be funny .

When he was at Benetton he was quite funny .

But to often as has been said he was just Nasty and spiteful .

Since he retired , I have heard / read a fair but more about him .

Overall he is NOT a nice Man .

He is another who thinks it is not like the old days and doesn't get it. Lewis's fan base is much greater than Jackie's. I do think there is an element of jealousy that is then worsened with racism, even if they don't think they are being racist.
If they were honest with themselves, they are just clinging to their own past, glory, memories and can't see how it has all changed. I see this in my old profession (IT) working for both IBM and HP in my time. Some of the pensioners still cling to the belief the old ways and days were the best. They are just men who have stood still and would be better off appearing in a comedy sketch.

That's really bad stuff from Piquet

....Though it was back in November why has it come to light now announced by F1 and Mercedes? That's too slow to action.. people should be told its not right as soon as it leaves their mouths

 

I would assume it only just came to their attention. Doubt anyone is monitoring Piquet daily for potential gob shyte moments given their frequency.

 

Terminating his contract was the only right thing to do. He is a young man and at some point he may deserve to recover. Needs first to be on the naughty step for sometime though.

Personally....... hamilton's cool. stop being white power freaks.

f1 is like this.. equal opportunity and all that good stuff as long as you are rich enough to pay.

china as a relatively decent driver for the first time... pay driver but not bad
Japan has a ok driver, bit mixed in results. an pay driver.
canada has an absolute **** driver who is a pay driver.

This is equality in F1. you bring cash to the table you get to drive but don't expect one ounce of respect doing it.

all these rest? well they are mostly white males and well to do. Theres one guy who's taken just about every record along with 7 world titles getting popped at by old white clowns... that says it all.

And no, I think Lewis is a bit of a whingebag at times. I'/m not a fan boy. I just happen to think he's risen about the clowns and deserves a slight bit of repsect for what he's done and has been doing off track.

 

Especially considering Stewart's dress sense.

I was going to click like but was concerned that someone might think I liked Bernie's comments which I don't.
I think he has finally lost the plot!!! He's been nuts for a long time but siding with Putin!!!!!! Then saying Ukraine should have negotiated big time with someone threatening to invade their country!!! He's just mad - same as Putin - maybe that's why he supports him!!
