Well, I kind of view this slightly differently.

The deliotte money table shows where teams declare their revenues. (fake or otherwise)

Man city have now got to the point with a half empty stadium and no fans globally of having 644 million euros.

    https://www2.deloitte.com/uk/en/pag.../articles/deloitte-football-money-league.html

We are 7th on the list and competitive with PSG, Man utd and Barca. we take in way more money that the likes of spurs or dortmund or arsenal or atletico etc.

It is then down to HOW you spend it. Clearly city have been allowed to dope their way to the top here and its writ large in their accounts. Fake sponsorship after fake sponsorship and this is the target now of madrid latest scheme.

    Look to wage bills.

First LFC do not have a seperate shell company though which other staff are paid. we have to try look at the wage bill for the 25 man squads

We can clearly see LFC are up there is wages again quite high but sustainable based on the revenues etc.

Why do we only pay 220k to our top earner then and 350k to 400k is the going rate and two players at PSG are on a mil a week supposedly?

https://salarysport.com/football/ligue-1/paris-saint-germain/ you can take a look here.

believe it or not even at PSG some people get bang average wages cos the league they are in means PSG can get away with it. Same at dortmund where they can pay one guy massive money unitl its time to sell.

    https://salarysport.com/football/bundesliga/fc-bayern-münchen/

same at bayern, despite them paying quite a lot at the top of the squad.

So at LFC whats going on?

    https://salarysport.com/football/premier-league/liverpool-f.c./

well even the lower paid in the squad are up in terms of the average salary and the depth of squad both count. We pay more people the 100k + wages compared to those clubs than these other clubs.

Our AVERAGE wages is about 120k per week. The median is about the same.

If you look at Batyern they operate a smaller squad, with an average of about 125k and median of 115.

in other words..... we might not pay the TOP wage but we spread it around more players and pay the same amount in the end.

IF you want superstars then pay them but if you want a squad that performs then pay who performs.

We've consistently rewarded performance over time and have a lot of high performing high earners.

What the club seem to be doing is tracking performance very very carefully and quite happy let anyone who might drop off go quickly.

    look at the rewards:

Alisson 2027 contract. asset secured we are very very sure he will do well til then
Diaz 2027, really low relative intro wage. asset secured, can reward to keep longer as we choose.
Fabinho. 28 and staying til 2026. longest contract at that age. some confidence in this
VVD on big wages til 2025. will be 33. again confident his game will adapt as he's a man mountain and the organiser.

look at those don't have long contracts
    Salah
Mane (gone and good riddance :) )
    Ox
    Keita
    firmino

Whats the common denominator there? performance? injuries? age? the club has weighed them all for whatever reason and made and offer or not.

he is NEVER joining us. the second he went to dortmund he was on the agent track to big money.

We were after touchy according to some and once he ****ed off then that was it.

the thing is theres no room for bellingham at real so IMO theres a long game at play with his agent using clubs to keep the name up there and will hope for a big world cup and a massive scramble then but the sports washers.

Age and position imo determine when a player gets a long term contract.

Its easier to justify paying a GK or defender big wages into their 30s because they are able to maintain their standards in the later stages of their careers, those positions require less physical energy (ie less running about).

Theres a reason clubs hold onto GK, CBs and DMs for as long as possible.

And there's a reason you see alot of forwards and attacking mids moving around, often on frees, in their 30s.

We clearly felt that henderson was worth more to us than simply as a player as we were willing to pay him 140k a week right out to 2025 and he is already 31 AND already looking like the legs are dropping off.

you are right, we have to be looking at the amount of running needed and the level the player is at and if its sustaining or dropping off.

read this as 1 player between 0 and 10,000 a week etc. so we have 2 players on between 200 and 250k a week

    upload_2022-6-28_10-25-39.png
    this is the same.

If you look at PSG they pay 3 players over 500,000 a week. messi, neymar and mbappe.

    5 players <50k
    7 players between 50 and 100k
    etc

both club claim to pay about the same in weekly wages in total. i say claim as one has real accounts and they other is god knows.

yeah, just the usual horse trading going on. should get our next spend right down this year to the usual small amount once the clubs who've loads of cash finally admit it to themselves that they do actually have it.

Its amazing how penny pinching some are and then go off and make terrible buys at lower prices.

phillips at 10mil is a no brainer for any side wanting to just survive . get 6 or 7 years min out of him at very reasonably wages.

Williams here is all baout the resale when forest get relegated. williams looks good running forward (if he can run in a straight line) but is a **** enough defender. 15mill to 25mil sell on seems very simple to be able to do if you just play him.

He’s been playing left wing for wales at times. Would think a right wing back type role would suit Williams at the moment.

Im surprised no one has come in for Phillips. Maybe wages a sticking point as we gave him a bumper new deal after end of last season.

As you say, any bottom 6 club that wants a guy that’s gonna sit back in a low block and want someone to win headers should be all over him. Surprised Bournemouth haven’t looked to get him given he did well there for them, he has prem experience etc.

in the end phillips was secured and can be sent on loan to get a fee each year while his wages get paid. its no big deal. the thing is that they know they have to pay so try this cheap **** on all the time.

the best thing brighton did was drop all that bull and just be ambitious and go build the club up from the ground up. they've gone out of their way to attract a certain type of player and give them chances. thye've spend more than us FFS!

forest need a wing back and their current lad (who couldnt defend at all when we played them) was only on loan and is being sold to spurs yeah? ergo... 2+2 means the available guy fulham have not moved quickly on (stupid ****s) looks a good bet.

I still can't believe Fulham didn't sit down the second they were promoted and go secure the player. Now they will be scratching round for a cheap RB and find brandon willams for the same fee or something as stupid.

Doesn’t seem our type of signing. Who was the last player we brought directly from South America? Coates?

probably, or maybe allan? either way we have not had success trying that way. we like to see them play in europe... or he's really cheap and we can pull another awoniyi out of the bag after loaning him about.

or its entirely made up to get his name out there for european transfer.

After 10 years at Anfield, where he won the 2012 League Cup, he moved to Lazio and played in Rome until the expiry of his contract this summer.

Takumi Minamino has left Liverpool after two-and-a-half years, with the versatile forward joining Monaco in a deal worth over two times the fee he arrived for.
The club has now confirmed the transfer, with the Japanese swapping Liverpool for Monaco for £12.9 million rising to £15.5 million.

He wasn't bad backup to have. I'm assuming Fabby C is replacing him as backup on the bench. Will he be as good as Mini? Who knows, but he does have age on his side.

It appears a serious spunkfest has broken out over rapinha or at least his agent wants us to beleive it.

Arsenal, now cheslea but he still only has eyes for barca.

Of course absolutely no bids made.
