Ecuadorian sources claim that we've reached an agreement with Leverkusen to sign Piero Hincapie for €35m with €5m in addons ...problem is that those sources claim that English sources are their source, yet the closest to a source out there is Kicker (notably not English, given their office is in Nuremberg) who claimed yesterday that we were preparing a bid As I said when we were first linked, while he may not be Bastoni now, his game shares a lot of similar traits and, at 20, this means that while he won't be replacing Ben Davies in our first choice back three immediately he could be a very useful asset on the bench this coming season and potentially in the back three a year or so from now
Important thing to remember with these signings is…I’m just guessing but I reckon a player like Gordon may not be the name we as fans may have considered…a bit like Kulu and Bentancur…but far more importantly…Conte probably believes these players have the minerals required for him to work with. So far there seems to be no negative utterances from Conte with any of the deals so I’m all for it. Everytime I’ve watched Gordon I may not have noticed some great wing play but then again I’ve seen him playing whilst under the tutelage coached under Lampard n Benitez. From what I gather of Gordon is that he’s a grafter, gets stuck in, doesn’t seem to give up…I see a Conte player in him. To me we seem to be targeting players that have fight and hunger in them …makes sense having watched toothless for a long time. Also makes sense because these are the type of players Conte improves. Hence why I’m all for Richarlison too.
Spurs are also firm favourites to land Barcelona and France defender Clement Lenglet, despite interest from Roma in the 27-year-old. (London Evening Standard)
I think I've said it before, but a loan for Lenglet effectively says we're going back for Bastoni next summer Unless Conte sees Lenglet as cover for Dier, anyway
Gvardiol signing a new contract with Leipzig with a release clause of around 50 mill euros. Cheaper than the 80 mill pound Sterling being mooted around as a fee for him currently. im hearing he’s going to be a star
German clubs insert weirdly impotent release clauses. It's almost masochism. I guess it's because they don't want to compromise their collectively "duty" to the Fatherland in serving as 19 feeder clubs for Bayern Munich.
If we sign Lenglet on loan then I reckon we’ll sign Bremer. Lenglet then competes with Davies. Bremer with Dier. Sanchez or Tanganga with Romero. Allows for Rodon and Sanchez/ Tanganga to leave if the club gets offers.
Mundo Deportivo claim we're close to reaching an agreement to loan Lenglet Dier backed up by Lenglet Romero backed up by Sanchez/Tanganga Davies backed up by (Hincipie?)
Spence Watch James Olley claims that Boro have given him an extra week's holiday and he won't be back until July 4th They're clearly trying to get an auction going, aren't they?
Richarlison Watch/Exodus Watch Same Wallace of the Torygraph claims we've offered Steven Bergwijn as a makeweight in the Richarlison negotiations Given they need the money, surely £50m + Bergwijn for Richarlison & Gordon seems a better fit? Almost as if we're nudging Ajax again...
Dutch reports claiming Everton's offered better terms to Bergwijn and are willing to pay our asking price.
Lots of journos now jumping on the Richarlison bandwagon for a reported package of around £60m, which I sincerely hope is reduced by one or both of Winks and Bergwijn moving in the other direction as he is worth no more than £40m even in today's market. Mixed reports about Everton's interest in Bergwijn, veering from 'very interested' to 'never been mentioned'. Clement Lenglet also inching closer apparently. I agree with HBIC - he isn't better than Davies so would probably provide cover for the Welshman while we work on Bastoni for next summer, who I think is our #1 target for that position and by all accounts wants to join just doesn't yet feel ready to, which is fair enough.
