We saw a better return elsewhere. He would be behind the incomings and we offered a deal accordingly. Milwall wanted him more. Simple. Time will tell. If its the right or wrong decision. Looks like Tufan (or whoever we replace him with) has 4 goals and 5 assists in a season to beat in order to justify his outlay.
I can understand conditional obligations to buy what's the point of no conditions unless to get around FFP?
I thought tan did what the rest of us do and blame the Allams . He certainly mentioned them in his answer about George’s contract
Partly, he said that Honeyman's contract from the Allam's was **** and he 'tried to fix it' but apparently it still wasn't decent enough so Honeyman wanted to leave for a better situation. Reading between the lines it sounded like the club put a certain value on him, as MO said, and that was below what Honeyman valued himself at. Probably partly a financial decision, and partly a playing time decision.
Middlesboro attract players not by showing them around Middlesboro but by showing them Yarm and the surrounding areas. We should show potential signings around areas like Swanland, Kirkella and Welton then take them to Beverley, which is where Acun stays over. It's not rocket science. It's also something the Duffen era latched onto when they were here.
Same principle, you could say the same about any big city, good parts, bad parts, so you showcase the best. Don't know if you are aware but there is some serious money in London and some of the richest people in the World choose to live there. There is also some serious money and impressive property not too far from the centre of Hull, so showcase that. Why drive down Spring Bank when you can drive down Kemp Road ?
This is what I suspect, I think going forward they think George may not be good enough, in their opinion, if we do get to where they want to be. So didn't want to offer a contract for too long a period. Similar to Smallwood, offered him a short-term deal, but understandably he wanted a longer contract so he left.
I'm starting to become slightly concerned with the potential incoming players. Look, undoubtedly they look to have a decent pedigree, but the Championship is a unique league. It is relentless, and these players coming in, Seri and Figi aside, have no experience in this kind of league. It is a massive culture shock and I don't know if these players will be able to 'hack' it - there's been bigger and better players failed in this league
It's our 118th birthday and the announcement nonces are all over the clubs media, good day for an announcement mind.
Does not matter where you go or play it will be a culture shock in some respects, but it's football it's the same all over the world where ever you go but if you have the ability then you will be able to play. As for being able to hack it i don't think that has any relevance at all the club is bringing in a few players looks like they will be covering all positions so it is not like they will be playing 60 games none stop is it, i also think players like Docherty will be utilised more this season if they keep him he has assets others do not have he may well be used more than we think to use those assets when we need his ability say more than a creative player.
No Pete, I think it was Shota that said Tom, unfortunately, doesn't have a good relationship with the ball, which is why they felt better he went.
One thing I have noticed, there seem to be quite a few new posters on here, which is a sign, that interest is growing in what going on at the club.
