Deco could not get Raphinha to Barca so now he tries to get him to Chelsea? Raphinha needs to sack this snake. He has not the players best interest at heart. He only has Barca and Chelsea’s best interest in hart:headbang:

If they want him, they should be forced to pay £100m for him:emoticon-0130-devil

Grealish went for more because that was his buy out clause.

But why does that matter? If they had offered Villa £90m they would have said no like we could have done at £42m or they could have buckled and said okay. Didn't Firpo have some crazy buy out clause fee before joining.

It's WC year, if Phillips or Raphinha shine their prices will sky rocket, players fetch a huge premium after any World Cup, we would still get that £42m come the Winter break he wouldn't have devalued, its a huge bit of very poor business

We're all different I know but our best two players in our two seasons back in the PL are KP and Raphinha, how can anyone be confident or optimistic losing your best two and signing players we still need to look up on Wiki and who have zero experience. The gamble is massive and I am concerned

I don’t know if villa would have turned down 90 million, it was more the point that once the release clause was met they couldn’t say no. I’m in total agreement with you that we’ve under sold, we seem to do it often, think of the price for Pontus. I also completely share your concern.

I'm certainly worried about losing Raphinha, but not so much Phillips, who was poor last season when fit.

No, it's a good price. If we refused to sell, Phillips would get super pissed with the club and his form would suffer.
And next Summer we'd get less than half that.

We want and need motivated players at the club.

Raphiniha is going to leave. It seems Arsenal has re-evaluated their finances after getting Jesus, so it's no beyond the realms of possibility that he stays until after the world cup.

Surely as a Leeds through and through lad he wouldn’t have done that. He did say last year that he wanted to stay at the club after all <whistle>

So everyone assumed that figure was the one paid. Is there a way to see city's books or do they just list all tranfers inbound together.

“The club” can buy and sell whoever they like and at whatever price as far as I’m concerned. The caveat to that is they better get it right and after last seasons shenanigans I’m not convinced so far.
As far as Philips is concerned I’m not convinced as to his loyalty to Leeds I’m sure he could have helped us get more money, and with regards to his performances of late both for club and country I think he was more intent on avoiding injury than playing his best(wonder why)

Clubs are still feeling the effects of covid. There is less money going round and some will take years to catch up. So it seems we are the daft ones forking out for players like firpo.

Went on holiday with grealish & co. Came back and dumped his agent so the writing was on the wall since last summer.

    I’m presuming it’s on villa’s accounts?

Like I said earlier, World Cup year, 16 games left to prove yourself, nobodies form would suffer before a WC.

Hell of a lot of tripe being spouted on here the last few days.

Raphinha & Kalvin have both been absolutely brilliant for us yet somehow their professional integrity repeatedly gets called into question. Without Raph we'd have gone down for sure and without Kalvin we'd likely still be mid table Championship.

And for those saying Phillips wasn't very good last season I'd like to ask how many of you were actually at the games ? The reason I'm asking is that Kalvin doesn't always need to be at his 100% best for the team as a whole to function better and 4 points from the last 2 games proves that beyond doubt.

Raphinha gave his heart and soul to the club during the run in but that's now forgotten and apparently he's going to sulk if he doesn't get his move which is complete and utter nonsense.

Can't wait for Bamford to come back so you can all start bashing him (again) as well...tossers :steam:

Nothing wrong with a good dose of tripe it's quite good for you, in fact next time you're at the match have a word with the catering manager and see if it can't be added to the menu :emoticon-0114-dull:......... official secretary of bury tripe association

I would never question their professional integrity. Phillips always gave his all. Raphinha could have got his move to Barcelona on the cheap if we were relegated. He walked across the pitch on his knees… he’d obviously prayed for us to stay up! They both always gave their best whether they played well or not… and they were our two most important players.

I certainly wouldn’t blame either of them for wanting to further their careers and move on.

I do think kp’s stance on the city move denied us his full market value - so I’m frustrated by that… but who knows what agreements he may have made with radz/orta when he stayed after the Villa deal fell through 3 years ago.

Have we ever stopped? We’re bashing him for being a sick note, if he ever laces up boots again we’ll just move to bashing his finishing. Bamford bashing is just a sport like cooper carping and Roberts rubbishing,
