There’s a band called Turnstile on the other stage. A bit like Rage Against The Machine. Much betterer than D.Ross croaking along.
I think the most striking thing about the TV coverage of this year's Glastonbury is that everyone in the crowd appears to know all the words to all the songs.
I've seen them live at one of those climate change concerts in the 1990s.. but I really got hooked on them when they played at the opening or closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympics
I watched a little bit and I reckon, as she did at the Jubilee concert, she was singing live to her own voice on a backing track. It's a clever trick, but not easy to pull off technically outside. She really should have packed it in years ago.
Agreed, I for one said he along with other muso's their age should retire but in saying that, Well done to him for having a go. At 80, its a feat just to make it up to the stage without falling over. I'm 61 and would probably go ass over tit just clipping my guitar on. Sounds like everyone had a good time. Well done.
Shame it all got a bit shambolic in the end. Weren't Fleetwood Mac meant to play aswell ? The Moody Blues never got to play and Jefferson Airplane's was aborted. There is meant to be some ok footage of the whole thing floating around in places but owned by too many different people who can't agree on copyright , so will never see the broader light of day ! There are sounds on YouTube but the quality is low unfortunately. The great innovator of Glastonbury was in attendance and this would lead him to starting that festival the very next year !
