Fantastic yorker from Potts to Blundell, just missing leg stump. Brilliant spell from Potts this. Bloody rain falling again now and going off again.

Nicholls has the 4th worst record against left arm spinners in the history of Test cricket ! Moeen Ali has the 3rd lol.

Great interview with Potts after the days play, seems like a very erudite and level headed guy. Comes across really well, and hopefully will be a feature for a long time !

Nicely poised going into day four and looking like another last day climax.

This has been an excellent series.

Don't want to be chasing more than 250 ideally on this wicket, alot more in it than the flat track of Trent Bridge. Can't see their spinner bowling as badly as he did in the 1st innings, although I reckon we believe we could chase 350 the way the dressing room is atm !

Given that we have some of the best white ball batsmen around I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more in the test team given the Stokes/McCullum ideology, especially if the top order batsmen keep being so inconsistent.

It’s great entertainment and a change from the last view years, but I imagine the other top Test teams will be figuring out a few tactics even now.

Meanwhile, happy for the ‘ells’ to build a 400 lead as long as Bairstow has 90 minutes to get them in.

Harry Brook must be very close to a Test call-up and Liam Livingstone is sure to get a chance too. Both are explosive batsmen, and both bowl too. Lees's place as opener is secure for the time being, but Crawley needs to be rested.

Do Buttler and Roy not play red ball cricket any more?

I think they might get to play the odd 4-day game for their counties, but both might be deemed to have had their chance at Test level. Roy was a failure as opener, and I think Buttler would only come back in if he was going to keep wicket, which is unlikely.

    Exciting times, though.

At last! Mitchell goes LBW to Potts, who's been a real find for England.

    NZ lead by 243.

NZ all out for 326, leaving England 296 to get.

Another 5fer for Leach giving him 10 in the match. Not bad for a bloke who can't bowl.

    Potts excellent, too.

Kiwis all out for 326, leaving England 296 to win.
Leach gets a 5fer in each innings. Who'd of thunk it?

    Is Bairstow injured?
I see Billings was keeping wicket.

Billings was brought in is a like-for-like replacement for Foakes, who has covid.

Bairstow covered for Foakes yesterday when it was thought he'd be back today.

Mix up between Crawley and Lees results in a run out for Lees.
Crawley scratching around, completely out of touch, but is now starting to find his timing.

    Crawley needs a rest.

Tomorrow, as at Trent Bridge, free entry. Didn’t get to the last day at Lords so those who had tickets got their £160 back. Weird pricing policies, I suppose the grounds decide, not the ECB.

Yep. Crawley definitely needs a rest.
Buttler to open under this new ultra attacking regime?
