He's a Catholic? Wow, I knew the Pope was but didn't know about Liam. An audience with the Pope eh, I preferred the one with Victoria Wood but still.
I’m honestly not that bothered. If it’s meant with good intentions it’s met with respect. Some are complete idiots of course and believe the mad things the taxi driver said. Not personal this cos you’re a good poster but the people going bananas about itk’s annoy me more
You can tell some have been pacing their bedrooms for weeks just waiting to rush to post that this person or that person was wrong ... ... some are even signing up on here just to have their little moment of spite
Use to be a great pub, I have loads of family still living there. Use to go there a lot. I had my wedding reception in the jolly sailor just around the corner.
Crazy isn’t it even if what’s been passed on doesn’t come off it’s passed on in good faith and gives us all something to talk about/look forward too in the lull of pre season
I agree but his recounting of how he was treated by Bruce was interesting and perhaps gives some insight as to how the club was operating at the time
Always thought Bruce would be a poor man manager - he (SB) strikes me as being thick as mince and probably unable to hold a decent conversation/argument. Sounds like Ferdinand took him to school when it came to their interactions.
The very one. Username is partly related to the pub, and partly due to a penchant for grey racehorses (not in a naughty way.....). Had a pint of White Hot last night in another pub, which is brewed by Consett Ale Works on the Grey Horse premises. Very nice.
Hat and feather is closed. My parents knew the landlords familly quite well, last time we saw them was about 15 years ago in Seahouses, same day my son Jack was goggle eyed seeing a world cup winner called Jack.
Shame, I never went inside tbh. I worked on a rag&bone cart for a fella called Tommy Southern from Leadgate. He'd give me pop and crisps while he went in for a pint. I thought I was king of the castle while I put the nosebag on the horse and sat in the driving seat I was only eight tbf.
He almost bought the whole ground Must be a good day for you mate, hope you get to see some great games.
It appears Anton has memory problems - he forgets we twice finished 7th in the premiership under Reidy and his bit about the game at Everton (26 Feb 2011) in which he says he was subbed 2 minutes after half time he, playing RB, was actually taken off on 67 minutes and replaced by Ryan Noble, at centre forward. Given that we were 2-0 down and Moyes' Everton were sat back, defending their lead, I would say that move was aimed at trying to pull the game back rather than slighting him, but Anton makes it all about him
