BA staff are now voting to go in strike in the summer holidays.

    Well done.

With the lack of faith in airline companies and all the cancellations this is exactly what not to do to woo consumers back.....

I did laugh when Starmer refused to say whether LAbour supported the strikes.... as half his front bench were pictured on the picket line.

Update on BA is that they aren’t tricking for more money.. they had a 10% cut in wages during covid so want it restored now flying is almost back to normal. That’s fair play imho.

Inflation is going bananas now and that's without people getting a fair wage. It's almost as though wages have little to do with it and it's company greed that is pushing prices up.

I'll always back the people over business and will defend their right to strike.

The office of national statistics has said the median wage of rail workers is just under £44,000 per year. That's the same wage of a middle grade doctor or senior nurse in the NHS.
As has already been stated, staff in the NHS staff got 3%, (and that's after breaking their balls for the last 18 months) which in my case was immediately removed from my take home pay in increased pension. No sympathy for them on this occasion.

The Ons figures are incorrect. The true figure is actually around £32,000 if all grades are included and drivers who are in a different union and not striking are excluded.

The median is an awful average to use 99% off the time. If we’re going to use this then we also need to look at the IQR
