Typical, we have a thread harping back on old memories, and someone comes along and spoils it with an "afternoon all" :)

I’ve been a bit rushed lately, I started a new job and I’ve been trying to sort out the new job whilst working my old notice

Talking of old memories when we beat spurs in our cup winning year in the quarters I remember one of our players having to play in his vest for a few minutes after he'd took off the named tracksuits, before his shirt was retrieved from the dressing room....anyone else at the match will be able to name him it was........<whistle>

Sorry Ristac, guess my humour didn't come across to well, it was just something that amused me, hence it wasn't a serious comment :)

I know the answer, because I must have read about it a few years ago. However as I wasn't at the game I'll leave it for someone who was there to provide the missing part of the story :)

Well my excuse for not being at the game is I was 6 year's old, lived on the Isle of Man, and my hero at the time was Gordon Banks, and thus I supported Stoke. My allegiance changed on September 1973, when my uncle took me to my first ever live game and we put 6 past some Norwegian team in the first round of the UEFA Cup.

Re. the new strips. I was picking up my youngest grandson from school & started talking to a stranger - in a Leeds shirt (after we exchanged salutes, of course!). He was telling me that he had another son at another school & often meets Orta there, as his son is also at this school. Of course, the lads all try to pump him for info, but he holds true. Mostly. What he did reveal about the new strips is that it won't come as a surprise that the 1st choice strip is white. What is a surprise is that it's the third strip which will be yellow, not the 2nd. As for the 2nd strip, he point blank refused to discuss it.

(What this means to conspiracy theorists like me is that the 2nd is going to be a controversial red. <yikes>).

Something is right. I'm a shape-shifter. I used to be a wee at one time. Now I'm just a ****. Well, that's what Mrs WJ calls me. :(
