'If' he signs his new contract suspect he's going nowhere, which would be my preference. £1.5m? I appreciate he's in the last year of his contract but that's a pittance for someone with his ability, enthusiasm, and experience. Thankfully the days when we need to sell at such sums to balance the books appear to be behind us to some extent. More and more players seem to be winding their contracts down to get a signing on fee elsewhere, if that's Georges plan then good luck to him but would hope we could get more than £1.5m.
Yeah I have no idea which is why I asked but think in his last year it becomes tough to get too much of a fee. Maybe 2-3m if we really hold firm I guess?
Looking at it from the other side, may work in our favour ref Seri if he joins, I'm sure a signing on fee to him compensates to some degree for the supposed lower salary on offer at City given he was on a reported £60k a week at Fulham.
Don't agree at all. He was well ****ed about, moving him into different positions and expected still to cover his old position. For me he carried on trying long after some of the more popular players gave in(irvine for e.g). I thought he was class and I'd love to see him back
Terry brought him to the club to do a job, having worked with him previously, something not unknown to Terry. Hugely talented lad, started off well enough but just completely faded away for me. If Acun has serious thoughts of pushing onwards and upwards, not good enough. Plus if Seri, Tufan and Traore arrive, no way would he be ahead of those in my book; he'd also be behind Slater in my book.
I always thought Lopes looked a quality player, and I was never sure what to make of people saying he downed tools. It sort of felt like the whole team did around that time, although it was maybe more in a losing all confidence and belief way rather than them consciously deciding not to try out of laziness. For what it's worth, Leo doesn't seem to have played much in his two years in Belgium.
I don’t think his wiki page has been updated properly as he played 31 games this past season but only says 21 on wiki
There is a belief, held by some on here, that former players cannot be admonished for selling out the club, if they did so under the Allam era.
I can't see us being in for Brady. Anyway, he hardly played last year and I'd rather have Fleming play. Anything that inhibits his progress would seem foolish and unnecessary - at this stage. I can see Fleming becoming a star of this division, and this season.
I know a few people who work for the allams, and speak very highly of them, or at least assam. Going by their public proflie they have all the loveliness of a great white shark. Maybe it was just a hull city thing, but i doubt many city employees at the time enjoyed going to work. I don't blame any of the players for the **** show that got us relegated. But without the allams, our club might have folded, but now they've gone and we could be about to embark on our best journey ever with the new owners.
Oh, you don’t need to tell me. Odubajo, Livermore, Brady, Clucas to name a few all ****ed off without a second thought for the club but people are quick to defend them because they had to work for the Allams.
Odubajo gets mountains of **** from some City fans, sometimes to him directly. The others just got flogged because we were relegated and couldn't afford them.
