I do think had we just got relegated and been unlucky or almost stayed up people would feel less negative- or probably had the trust that a manager will do well and get given time . I feel it was the way we went down that really annoyed some - particularly the home form. Others just seem to think our whole squad is rubbish and we can replace them all at the click of a finger which is very unrealistic! Even with Duxbury speaking out and being open there has been criticism about it being too late etc.
The rule of 11 I didn't realise that the EFL only allow 11 overseas players in a matchday squad whilst in the Prem we were allowed 17 out of 25 man squad. I've lost track of who is eligible due to age or homegrown but who else will stay or go? It looks like a very fluid transfer window. Coucho gone, Sarr terms nearly agreed but then we have already brought in 1 more overseas player.
Zinckernagel going too for 2 million which seems very low . Get the feeling he has never really been wanted here Bit part player under Munoz then went out on loan at the first opportunity. Now sold for very little .
I think Bachmann is deemed to be homegrown although you are right that he's likely to leave. Here is a link to a WO article about the squad. There maybe still errors in it. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/20225795.efl-matchday-rule-key-watfords-transfer-business/ The Zinckernagel fee is a joke at €2m but I have seen it maybe 3 or 4m. Still low in my mind.

The traditional new manager video showing him talking and in action. All looks good and promising but so often ends in “tears “..
